Relaxation at The Oak Barn Danbury is inevitable. Surrounded by oak trees, the secluded fenced patio with comfy seating, hot tub and BBQ will allow quiet relaxation after a day exploring the Essex countryside on your doorstep. Inside, enjoy a beautiful open plan oak beamed kitchen / living area with all the amenities you could need to enjoy your stay, 3 luxurious beds and a large bathroom. Being child friendly, free parking and fast Wifi are a given. A seasonal pool is just an added luxury! Welcome to the beautiful Oak Barn in Danbury. 1000 sq ft of light, quiet, secluded space for a relaxing get away. Bedroom 1 has a luxurious king size bed with memory foam mattress, quality linen and is double aspect looking out over the tree lined garden and horses (when they arn't on their holidays!). Bedroom 2 has an equally luxurious sprung double mattress, quality linen and enjoys views of the horses and National Trust Forest behind. The large bathroom comprises of an overized bath for relaxing after a day exploring picturesque Essex, a seperate shower, toilet and basin. All amenities such as shampoo, soap and toilet paper are provided as would be expected. The open plan, oak beamed Living/Dining/Kitchen area is light and spacious even for 6 people. The double sofa bed can be made up or left folded for your arrival. The 42" TV in the living area is linked up to a Firestick for App access and live TV. A seperate nook is available for reading or if you need to check the laptop and Wifi signal is strong so you can keep connected! The dining table can be set for 6 and the kitchen is equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge (with small freezer), dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine, kettle and all equiptment you need for self catering. A selection of tea and coffee is also provided to get you started. Washing is available at a small fee. Outside, the barn becomes even more delightful as you can choose to see in the evening on your private patio either from your 6 person hot tub or outside seating area whilst someone BBQ's for dinner. During the summer months (weather dependent) a private heated outdoor pool is available daily between 9am and 12.30pm unless otherwise agreed. Parking for 2 cars on the shared drive is available. The Oak Barn Danbury is family friendly (2 little boys live on site!), so if there are any specific child requirements please just message me before you come and I will try and accomodate. We hope to see you soon x The Oak Barn sits adjacent to the main family house but allows full privacy for both parties via screening. I will be on hand for check in and check out as well as cleaning for stays over a week and to provide any support required. You might see or hear us in the garden or on the drive but otherwise its all yours! Danbury is the highest point in Essex and is filled with National Trust Forests and walks. The Oak Barn Danbury is surrounded by Trees (Oaks!) and you can walk out the door straight onto footpaths that will take you as far as your legs will carry you! 5 minutes walk takes you to the Danbury Lakes which is beautiful for picnics and hosts an ice cream van on weekends and holidays! If Mountain biking is more your thing, then Blakes Wood and Danbury Common are less than a few minutes cycle away and offer some challenging biking for the adventurous or more sedate routes for families. In terms of where else to go if you like walks you should check these out... Thorndon Park - it has a gruffalo trail Weald Country Park - stick man trail Hanningfield reservoir - wind in the willows trail Belhus Park - has a really cool wooden musical playground with sandpit Hylands Park – A very cool Castle playground and a café. Danbury Lakes (walkable from the Barn) - lovely walk, lakes with plenty of ducks and an ice cream van with waffles and coffees! RHS Hyde Hall - a lovely formal garden with nice coffee shop - this one has an entrance fee the others are free! Other walks/ attractions include: Danbury common, Lingwood common, Blackwarden nature reserve, Waterhall meadows, North Hills and Paper Mill Lock for excellent walks or biking and Paper Mill Lock has an excellent tea room and access for canoeing and paddle boarding. There is also a paid boat trip you can go on. These are all within 20-30 minutes’ drive max (most, more like 10) Jump Street offers soft play, trampolining and clip and climb - that can be fun and you can do sibling sessions where they jump to Disney songs! You want the Chelmsford one (its 15 minutes away) you need to book. Danbury is 10 minutes (max) drive from Chelmsford city, with mainline station into London (35 minutes) and a bus terminal. Chelmsford has all main shops and a variety of restaurants. Taxis, Buses and a park and ride are all available into town as well as driving. Historic Colchester is about 25 minutes’ drive with its Castle and excellent Zoo. For beach lovers Frinton on sea is fabulous and only an hours drive, West Mersey is great for crabbing and has a highly recommended fish shack at 30 minutes away and of course there is Canvey Island and Southend if you fancy arcades! There is a lovely coffee shop about a 10 minute walk away, as well as petrol station (Tesco Metro), Co-op and numerous pubs with outdoor and indoor seating areas and good food. The Cricketers pub is a 3 minute stumble and is family and dog friendly. The Griffin about a 10 minute walk serves excellent Thai food and we also have an excellent Indian about 5 minutes’ drive. There are a variety of take-aways and other local pubs also available and deliveries for Lebanese and Domino’s Pizza (order online). A selection of menus and maps are provided on arrival but if you need any help please just ask.
