We have reduced our damage deposit to $200 due to the care our guests have shown in using the cabin. We do not charge extra for people or pets. We include that in the rental price. We do charge extra for cleaning. We keep our Cobbin very clean. A 5 hour clean is done between each guest and we keep it vacant for a day in between each guest. A clean environment is very important to us. Obviously that is working. Most all of our guests mention this in their reviews. The Cobbin and surrounding area was blessedly saved from the Valley Fire. It is so amazing that you can barely tell there was a fire from our property, although it was stopped only 50 feet away. The area has recovered and is full of new growth. With the large expanse of windows the Cobbin offers the feel of living in the trees, similar to a tree house. The Cobbin in Whispering Pines is a place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Enjoy the peace, serenity and privacy. Due to all the rain you can now hear the spring that feeds water to all the houses in the area. This is what you will experience when you visit our cozy Cobb Mountain cabin, lovingly referred to as ' The Cobbin'. The Cobbin is a remodeled 1940's vacation cabin on half an acre, surrounded by over 100 redwood, pine, dogwood and oak trees. It features a large fenced backyard, perfect for your two or four-legged companion(s). Watch them frolic from your comfortable chair on the deck. Enjoy the sun rise over the mountain with a morning cup of coffee. This dog-friendly retreat comes with a fully equipped large kitchen, roomy bathroom with a claw foot tub, washer and dryer, and a cozy bedroom. The living room is well appointed with a couch/double bed and cozy chairs, perfect for curling up with a book or gazing at the trees through the large expanse of windows. At night choose a movie from the large DVD library, over 150 and growing, amuse yourself with a deck of cards, a board game, puzzle, or venture out to one of the several restaurants nearby. Your dog will appreciate the large comfy dog bed, raised feeding station, toys and treats. For your convenience there is also an x-pen and baby gate at the kitchen. You will find the Cobbin impeccable when it comes to clean. When we say clean we mean clean! A five hour clean is done in between every guest. We take extra care because we do encourage pets. The backyard is patrolled before each visit and pet bedding washed. Included in the list of house cleaning duties is the front and back decks are swept and parts of the yard raked. Nearby is a lovely nine hole golf course, grocery store, bohemian coffee house ( with its own book store), Brickoven pizza (our favorite, menu in kitchen drawer), restaurants, boutiques, pub, gas station and post office. A 10-20 minute drive down one side of Cobb Mountain will take you to Twin Pines Casino, Hidden Valley 18 hole golf course, and Middletown. A 30 minute drive down the other side will take you to Clear Lake (perfect for boating , fishing and bird watching). There are many small wineries and more small towns around the Lake to explore, along with 11 free boat ramps. The driveway at the Cobbin can more than fit a vehicle and boat trailer. Located just 2 hours from Sacramento and 2 hours from San Francisco it makes for a pleasant drive to Cobb Mountain. Take a 2 hour day trip to the coast and check out Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Check out Robert Louis Stevenson State Park about 15 miles from the house, towards Calistoga, for a beautiful hike, sorry but not dog friendly. To be clear, the rental is for the whole cabin , large fenced in backyard on 1/2 acre. No one else is on the property. We do recommend , for comfort purposes, a max of 4 adults and 2 dogs.
