Quaint Microbarn within Large Paddock with Views
The Micro Barn at Glen Cottage shares the garden and parking with the main cottage and comprises a Patio door Porch entrance/Dining area with views over the large Paddock garden area leading into the fully equipped Kitchenette. A large Bathroom with thermostatic shower and upstairs a twin bedroom with character beam open roof with 3 small drawers units, clothes hanging rails & tv. Other guests may rent the Cottage over same period so some facilities may be shared eg access/patio/boiler/wifi . Whilst the Microbarn has no dedicated living area guests will be able to relax and watch tv on their beds as in most hotels. The Driveway access and parking may be shared with others guests at the main attached cottage, also the patio seating and paddock garden. The Microbarn is situated in an ideal location to explore the beautiful fells of the Teesdale Area of Natural Beauty & famous High Force waterfall , Barnard Castle and the Iconic Bowes Museum and Raby Castle. Further afield you can visit the beautiful Lake district and Yorkshire Dales National Parks and Historic Durham within 45 min drives The area is perfect for enjoying many lovely walks from the doorstep as well as cycle rides. A bus route also connects the village with the nearest supermarket 2 miles away in Middleton or Barnard Castle 8 miles away where there are many individual shops and restaurants. If other guests are staying in the attached 2 bed cottage at the same time (and it does not happen very often) then the washing machine must be made available for a mutually agreed time so those in the cottage can drop in their washing as necessary then you can inform them it has finished. The boiler would be shared for heating and hot water, our tests showed this should be manageable for both parties. The heating can be controlled by either party with either party able to turn down individual radiator valves if you are hotter than desired. The Barn heats up much quicker and more efficiently and so the radiator settings required in the barn which allow sufficient heat to get through to the main cottage will be emailed in your welcome information pack and must be adhered to (these radiator settings that are used to Balance the whole system may seem to be low settings but trialling has proved they are sufficient to heat up the barn nicely and are essential for heating up the main Cottage rooms at the same rate) Background noise may be heard downstairs in the porch and kitchenette through the link kitchen door if both sets of accommodation are booked for the same dates and a 10% discount on room prices will be awarded to both parties for any inconvenience in sharing some facilities over any shared dates. our tests have shown that there will be very little (to no) interference but we believe a reduced price may be appropriate.
