Villaggio Bergamotto is a beautiful walled and gated complex in Gioiosa Ionica, with a 200 m² communal pool and surrounded by orange groves. This is a first floor, 2 bedroom apartment (sleeps 6). It is only 5 minutes drive to the beach and the markets and restaurants of Gioiosa Ionica are within walking distance. We have a property manager who will meet you on arrival. The Bergamotto complex hosts a mix of friendly locals and tourists from all over the world. There is a king sized bed in the main bedroom,two single beds in the second bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge. The apartment benefits from a brand new, modern fitted kitchen with a gas hob and electric oven, there is also a washing machine.The lounge/dining room has a TV, DVD, CD player , MP3 docking station and air conditioning. Double doors lead from the lounge onto a balcony with patio furniture. There are also two other balconies accessed from the bedrooms, all with lovely views. The bathroom is modern with the added advantage of having a bath and overhead shower. The apartment is fully equipped and has all you need for a relaxing holiday. Our property manager will meet you on arrival and give you all the information that you need for an enjoyable stay. All towels and bedlinen are included. There is a washing machine in the apartment. A travel cot and a high chair can be provided upon request. There is internet in the apartment. Easily Accessible : The region of Calabria in Southern Italy is easily accessible. Regular flights from the UK and all over the world, direct to Lamezia. From the UK, Ryanair fly from Stanstead and Monarch fly from Gatwick. There are direct flights from Dusseldorf in Germany, Canada, USA and many Italian cities like Pisa, Milan and Rome. A ferry to the beautiful island of Sicily is only an hours drive away. It takes only 45 min and leaves regularly from Reggio Calabria so would make a great day trip. Close to Beach and Mountains: The shimmering, aquamarine waters and white sandy beaches of the Ionian coast are only a 5 min drive from the apartment. Here you can enjoy many water sports like paragliding and jet skiing or just soak up the sun. The Tyrrhenian coast is also just a 30 min drive and home to the award winning beach resort of Tropea. Tropea also hosts an annual Jazz festival that draws people from all over the world. The Sila mountains are a 15 min drive away. Here you can visit traditional Italian villages like Gerace with its cobbled streets, piazzas and medieval churches. The views from the mountains are spectacular. People, Food and Drink: Calabria is a region of Italy located in the South of the country. In the 'The Toe of The Boot'. This part of the country is still unspoilt by tourism but English is widely spoken and the people are warm and friendly. In Gioiosa Ionica there is a market every Sunday where you can sample home made cheeses and local wines. The market is a great place to buy food and drink to enjoy on one of the three balconies at the apartment. Just 10 min walk from the apartment you can eat in one of the many family run restaurants serving the most delicious, regional cuisine. There are also many bustling bars and restaurants that line the beach. Most stay open until the early hours in the summer months. We do not live in Italy but we have a property manager who will meet you on arrival and give you all the information that you need to enjoy your stay.
