Less that 1 mile from the entrance to the beautiful Ickworth House country estate (National Trust). Which contains a large park for children, coffee shop and gift shop. There are also two really highly respected pubs in the village of Horringer (The 6 bells and The Beehive). A short distance away is the historical market town of Bury st Edmunds which contains a full range of amenities and includes the historical Abbey Gardens and cathedral. A good bus service runs from the end of the road into Bury St Edmund's, and the area is famous for great walking routes around the local parks and national trust areas.
