When you need or want complete relaxation with your own private waterfalls, pools and ocean view stay at Horses and Waterfalls and enjoy Hawai’i style country living at its best! During your stay I highly recommend the Papaaloa Country Store Bar and Restaurant just down the road. They have great pizza and fresh locally grown foods and local style menu. Aloha - Keith and Ashley Aloha, Watch the ships and waterfall from the huge wrap around deck as the horses graze in the pasture below. The stream has several totally private waterfalls and pools to enjoy and makes for great hikes. Hiking and riding trails go for miles. Our turn key, off the grid, two story 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath. Lindal Cedar Homes A Frame ranch house has great views from the upstairs loft. There is one king and one queen bed upstairs . The down stairs bedroom has a Cal-King. There are 2 futons and a couch to sleep on if needed also. The 60' deck with ocean and mountain views make the hammock one of life's great rewards! There are granite counter tops in kitchen. Outside you can sit under the stars around the camp fire and roast some marshmallows. There is plenty of room for safe tent camping for the kids all over the 4 acres of beautiful park like setting with rope swings and large shade trees across the property. We are situated between two tropical stream valleys with total privacy. Located 25 minutes north of Hilo and 30 minutes from Waipio Valley. The house is 1 mile from the highway with the last 1/4 mile dirt road. If you are looking for an over the river and through the woods getaway experience on the Big Island this is the place for you. NOTE : Flooding may and does occur in North Hilo and the Big Island. Please use Extreme caution when near, swimming in or crossing any waterway. 4x4 or jeep is recommended for exploring back road areas on the island and to get to my place. 4x4 is required to access Waipio Valley, Green Sands Beach and Mauna Kea . Aloha and BE SAFE ! I recommend Turo car rental Guest are welcome to roam at liberty around most of the property. Pick any fruit you can find in our citrus orchard and have fun outside. Guest cannot access the farm dwellings, or main house without permission for obvious reasons, but we are usually happy to talk story, show you our favorite places and tour the different spaces we are working on. Accessibility to WIFI is not guaranteed out here at the cabin. Ashley does her best to keep connected but please understand - Satellite WIFI is - slow (1 - 10 mbps slow), gravely effected by rain, and drains battery power. ▷ Papaaloa Country Store and Cafe (2 miles / 13 min drive) has reliable WIFI. We will make sure you know where the nearest stores, restaurants and gas stations are located. Also the safest and fastest directions to get to the local fun attractions and hot spots. Please note that due to the location and nature of the property, self check-in is not possible. 99 % of the time either Ashley or I will check you. We will give you a tour of the cabin and explain our unique off-the-grid system. Happy to answer any questions about the area island and my place. Access to the property is on unpaved roads and requires driving through streams crossings. Because the roads can be difficult during heavy rains, it will be necessary for guests to rent a Jeep or other vehicle with high clearance and good maneuverability. Guests must plan to arrive during daylight hours, as there are no street lights or road signs to help you find your way. Ashley or I will be there to greet you and to familiarize you with the house and property.
