Comfortable, private annexe with off-road parking
Welcome to The Sanctuary, a self-contained annexe set in the picturesque village of Fenstanton. A rural village (and the home of Capability Brown, buried in the local Norman Church) we are 3 km to the guided bus that takes you into Cambridge and 16 km by car from Cambridge. The village offers excellent amenities including two local pubs within walking distance, one that serves food. Set within the fens and RSPB Fen Drayton lakes, the area offers lots of walking and cycling options. The Annexe is set in the country cottage gardens of the 17-century cottage it belongs to. You have access to your own patio sitting out area, internet access, a small, fully functioning kitchen area and your own entrance access so you can come and go as you please. Parking is available and the owners are able to store bikes. We like to welcome guests after 3pm. Earlier check -in time by prior arrangement only. The annexe has its own heating system so you can set the heating to suit your needs. We welcome guests on arrival and a range of information packs are available including information about places to eat. shops and pubs. The village was the home of the famous 18th century landscape artist Capability Brown and the local church is worth a visit. In addition, the closest local town of St. Ives has a famous market every Monday (where the man with seven wives was going) and a good range of independent and high street shops. Fenstanton has easy access by bus and car to Cambridge. In addition popular attractions such as Ely, Stamford and Newmarket are within easy access by car. Huntingdon station is a 20 minute drive away and central London is an hour away by train.
