*** WE ARE NOT RENTING THE PROPERTY FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE DUE TO THE ONGOING UNCERTAINTY OF THE SITUATION*** Wonderfully rural in these trying times! Feels like a world away from London - walk along country lanes without seeing another person *** 2015 Visit England Award* Renovated Holiday cottage, The Granary is a luxuriously, well-equipped property, perfect for a real 'get away from it all break. Set in a beautifully quiet rural location, yet accessible to many local places of interest The Granary is situated in its own courtyard garden (with separate gated driveway) within the grounds of the owners 17th century barn. Luxuriously renovated, the owners were awarded a Visit England Award for Customer Service. The Granary has a contemporary feel with modern bathrooms and furnishings yet retains its character with oak beams, floors and doors. The property has wifi, Sky TV, DVD player and Bluetooth/MP3 dock. The Granary is accessed via its own gated driveway, and there is ample private parking in driveway. ** PLEASE NOTE: Occasionally Last Minute Short Breaks of less than 7 nights may be available ** Ground Floor boasts a modern, well equipped kitchen with Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Range Cooker, Microwave and Large Fridge Freezer. This leads to Lounge/Diner with modern table and chairs for 6, large corner leather sofa and lounge/TV space. Doors lead from hallway and also from kitchen to courtyard garden with patio, wooden furniture and parasol. There are two bedrooms on ground floor One en-suite Double Bedroom - with doors leading to courtyard garden - and with en-suite Shower room There is also a Twin Room on ground floor opposite a family bathroom, with bath and over bath shower. Stairs lead from hallway to Double Bedroom on first floor - with double bed and door leading to outside staircase (used as fire escape as steps can become slippery when wet) There are lots of brochures and books available in The Granary featuring local places of interest, including a wealth of National Trust properties (Sissinghurst, Bodiam, Smallhythe Place, Scotney Castle Garden, Stoneacre as well as Leeds Castle (the self proclaimed 'most beautiful castle in the world') Tenterden (The Jewel of the Weald) Rye, Canterbury, Whitstable, Chatham Dockyard and Tunbridge Wells are all within easy reach - and day trips to France can be easily taken via the Eurotunnel, approx 35mins drive from the property. There are several pubs in Sutton Valence, and a delightful walk across fields takes guests to the rural Lord Raglan pub. The newly opened The Potting Shed has quickly become a local favourite pub and is a short drive from the property. Frankies Farm Shop and Cafe, also a short drive away, is a real treat for ‘foodies’ & a great spot for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or Tea. There is a folder in the property listing details of many of our favourite, tried and tested pubs, restaurants and cafes nearby It's easy to see why Kent is called The Garden of England as the surrounding area abounds with fruit trees (there is an organic apple and pear orchard opposite the Granary) as well as wonderfully traditional Hop Farms, fields of Rape and Wheat. All of this, in addition to the delightful cows, sheep - and rabbits! - that can be seen along the lane, make for a wonderfully rural experience when staying at the property. A car is obviously essential as there are so many places to explore but for accessing London and other towns, the nearest station is Staplehurst, approx 4miles away - with direct trains to Charing Cross, London Bridge & Waterloo every 30mins, and it’s a 55min journey. There is also a good local taxi company available located at the station. The nearest supermarket is a Sainsburys Local, at Headcorn, approx 4miles away....Headcorn also has a picturesque high street, with coffee shops, restaurants and a pub. There are several golf courses nearby, including The Weald of Kent and Chart Hills, and Headcorn Aerdrome with its fabulous and very informative WW2 Museum, along with its newly acquired Spitfires is a few minutes outside the town. Balloon Rides, SkyDiving, Wing Walking and Flights over the Kent Countryside can all be taken from the Aerodrome. Fishing is also available locally - we’d be happy to give details if required There is a large pond located in the owners garden which is not accessible to guests (the properties are fenced off from one another with a connecting gate between, but parents of young children need to be aware, that the adjoining gate needs to be kept locked due to this. There is a Travel Cot and High Chair which can be made available upon request at no extra cost. Whilst the location of The Granary is very rural, it is not isolated, therefore due to neighbouring properties, it is not suitable for Hen or Stag Parties and the maximum number of guests permitted is 6
