PLEASE read the whole description before booking! The Bungalow is a cozy private room for two separate from our main house. There is a bathroom with toilet and sink just outside the room, shared with our Bunkhouse. The room has a full sized bed, table & chairs, Roku TV, WiFi, heater & air conditioner. A covered deck outside has a sofa & picnic table. The Bungalow is a cozy 10x12 room with full sized bed. It is just down the hill from the main house where there are other spaces that we rent on Airbnb. WiFi is available and there is a Roku TV in the room. There is a rustic bathroom just outside the room which is shared by our Bunkhouse room. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower. Up by the main house is a full shared bathroom with hot shower, outdoor kitchen and patio area for dining. We have chickens, a lovable dog and friendly cat. The decor is eclectic and the landscape somewhat wild. The vibe is laid back, homey, peaceful and friendly. Rooms and bedding are clean, but if you’re expecting a sterile, manicured hotel environment, respectfully this is not the place for you! Most of our guests love it so much, that they ask for late check-outs and we have many return guests. After 8 years of hosting, we have figured out how to make guests feel at home. Guests are welcome to use the outside guest kitchen, campers bathroom, patio areas and living room inside the main house. We are happy to chat with our guests, but also respect your privacy. We are usually home and are available by knocking on our door or by text, Airbnb messaging and phone. We are in Harbison Canyon, a community between El Cajon and Alpine, about 30 miles east of San Diego. The canyon is quieter than the city with less light pollution, so you can actually see the stars at night! A short stroll up the road is Old Ironsides County Park with a year round stream running through it, an exercise area and 2 kids playgrounds. The Park is shaded by old oak trees and has picnic tables and barbecues. Across the road from the park is the Canyon Store with beverages, ice cream and a good variety of groceries. It’s best to have a car to get here. Our area is rural and the only business within walking distance is a small store. The closest public transportation is an MTS bus stop 3 miles away. Please understand that you will need to go outside the room to the bathroom, which has a partially open roof. A second, fully enclosed bathroom is available to use up at the main house.
