This villa is a traditional stone-built house, which is 120 years old, tucked and hidden in a vast olive grove, with a big swimming pool and amazing views to the surrounding mountains. Located at a secluded and peaceful place, only 14km from Volos. Villa Olive is located on a privately secured and fenced peaceful surroundings, tucked comfortably amidst a vast olive grove, with 15 different kinds of trees, a big swimming pool and amazing views to the surrounding mountains and hills. The villa is in a safe but secluded and peaceful place, strategically situated between hills and sea, but with easy access to everything which you need (only 14 km from the modern university city of Volos). It can accommodate up to 4 persons comfortably, in a queen bed and 2 single beds upstairs and another 2 persons in 2 sofa beds downstairs. The queen bedroom comes with an ensuite shower/toilet and in addition, there are another 2 shower/toilet rooms on the ground floor to cater for all guests. Villa Olive will cater to your every need for that ideal escapade which you have been planning for. It is one of only three villas located in an area of 2 square km without any disturbances from traffic noise or human activities. Ideal for those who are looking to just lie back and relax, the big PRIVATE swimming pool and enormous garden of palm trees, fruit trees (cherry, apricot, fig, plum and peach) and fragrant roses will prove too inviting to be resisted. You can swim and splash in the pool while admiring the spectacular views of the nearby mountains while the meat is being barbequed on a specially designed pit, ready to be enjoyed outdoors with only the sky as your canopy. There is also a shaded bar (without drinks!) next to the pool for you to cool down in the afternoons – a perfect place to chat and drink to your hearts’ content! Either me or my care taker will receive you upon your arrival but at all other times, you will not be bothered by us at the property. If you are staying with us for more than 7 nights, we may make arrangement with you (at your arrival) for my care taker (the same one whom you have met at your arrival) to bring some clean bed sheets for you to change. Just 10-minute walk away from the villa, you will find the nearest beach, with calm and clean waters of the Pagasitikos Gulf, and enjoy the Greek Tavernas there which serve excellent local delicacies. If you prefer to explore the traditional villages of the nearby Mount Pelion, a panoramic drive of only 20 minutes will bring you to a slice of Greece which is so authentic and rich in traditions that you will be forgiven for thinking that you have travelled back in time. Many paths and tracks start just outside the villa itself and will lead you to “hidden gems” which even the locals do not know of. You can trek on cobbled paths which link the mountain villages where it is likely that you will not even encounter a single car. You will walk through mountain streams which rush down the valleys to the sea and dense forests which are home to wild boars. For those who are interested in these excursions and hikes on mountains, we are able to make the arrangements for you, with local guides to suit your schedule and preference. If walking/hiking up the mountain is not your cup of tea, what about a spectacular trip on the steam train of Pelion? The departure point of the train is only 10-minute walk from the villa (Ano Lechonia) and after 16 km on the train where you will cross arched bridges and pass through quaint, picturesque villages, you will arrive at a village called Milies. This is a really unique way to explore the breathtaking nature of Pelion at slow speed (25km/h). Once you have had enough of lounging by the pool and exploring the mountain villages, you can take a 45-minute drive to discover the dramatic coastline of the Aegean Sea, with some of the loveliest beaches in Greece. There is a vast selections of amazing beaches with blue-green waters, crowded or serene, rocky or sandy, all of which are easily accessible by car. If you are eager to explore more of the highlights of the area, from the port of Volos, you can take a trip to the Sporades Islands (Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos) and spend a few days at these popular pearl-islands of the Aegean Sea. It is advisable for you to have a car during your stay here in order for you to truly enjoy the surroundings of Volos. Volos and Mount Pelion have been favourite tourist spots for the Greeks but they remain undiscovered by many from outside the country. I am more than happy to share this beautiful place with you, by offering you an idyllic accommodation which is close to all the major highlights.
