Period family home with aga - lazy weekend rate
This is a traditional period English family home. The rooms are airy and large and the views are over lovely countryside. The perfect house for family gatherings, long lazy lunches and supper parties during the autumn and winter months. For weekends from October to March we offer a longer stay - check in from 4 on the Friday and you can stay until 6pm on the Sunday. NOTE - ALL DUVETS, PILLOWS AND BEDDING WILL BE REPLACED BETWEEN BOOKINGS. Please ensure your party is Covid compliant. This is very much a family home. Downstairs consists of a huge room with kitchen at one end containing aga, American fridge freezer and dishwasher with utility room off containing washing machine, drying rack and tumble dryer. The middle of the large room has a table that can seat up to 12 with comfy chairs and the far end of the room has a large corner sofa, plenty big enough for 6 and an armchair, an open fire and sky tv. There is a downstairs shower room and doors out to the garden. There is also a downstairs bedroom with double bed. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, one with (UK) superking bed, one with (UK) king sized bed and the other with a (UK) superking bed that can be spilt to make 2 single beds. There is also a bathroom with overhead shower over the bath. Two travel cots and two highchairs are available but please bring your own bedding for the cots. Outside there is ample parking and a private garden complete with fabulous tree house for the children. There is a patio with table and chairs for 8 and a gas barbecue. We are adding a sandpit, toddler slide and car and paddling pool for the younger ones this year and a firepit for the adults too. The whole house is available for the house is for the use of the guests. The house is set in beautiful East Sussex countryside with long views over the hills. There are plenty of places to walk near the house. Hastings is about 10 minutes away with its lovely Old Town, fishing huts, pier, beaches, shops and restaurants. It is within easy reach of Bexhill, Eastbourne and the picturesque small town of Rye. Bodiam Castle is about 10 minutes away. The nearest small town is Battle with it's history from 1066 being the site of the Battle of Hastings and there are numerous pubs, cafes and small shops to visit there along with the Abbey. There is a very good pub which does excellent food nearby. There is ample free parking at the property.
