Hundred Acre Studio, an Ashdown Forest retreat
Hundred Acre Studio is a charming retreat down a private track on the Ashdown Forest. In the heart of Winnie the Pooh country, it is a perfect base for exploring the many pubs, beautiful walks, historic railway, and National Trust properties in the area. It is also close to the South Downs and the coast, as well as nearby Tunbridge Wells with its historic old town and weekly summer jazz nights. It is the ideal country getaway; private, quiet, and with everything you need for a break. The space The Studio has its own access via a private courtyard, with outside table and chairs to soak up the sun. Recently renovated and designed with luxury and comfort in mind, it is a small but perfectly formed retreat. King-sized double bed with luxury hypoallergenic duvet and pillows and crisp bed linen. Perfectly appointed waterfall shower room and separate loo, with lovely soap and shampoo provided. Equipped kitchenette for modest cooking, or simply opening a bottle of bubbly to enjoy. Tea, coffee and other essentials provided. Adjoining my cottage and set in about half an acre of garden, there is direct access over a rustic bridge straight onto the glorious Ashdown Forest, with many miles of tracks to explore. A couple of pubs can be walked to within about an hour, or you can drive to many others. Guest access Access to the property is via private electric gates (code provided) and there is ample parking. There is a gentle sloping lawn or paved steps down to the cottage and the Studio is accessed via a paved pathway to the back of the cottage. Interaction with guests It's a private space so you will not be disturbed once you are here, but I live in the adjoining cottage and am happy to help you with local recommendations if desired. Other things to note A car is strongly advised as the nearest shop is around 4 miles away. Please note the cooking facilities are a 2-ring hob, microwave, kettle and toaster plus all pans, utensils and crockery etc. Perfect for modest meals but no conventional oven. Access to an iron, ironing board and washer/dryer can be provided on request. There is one dog living at the property, but he is extremely friendly! The garden is not secure and as such we cannot welcome visiting dogs.
