Hawaii GET/TAT GE (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) /TA (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) day stays or greater. 3 bedroom, newly updated cottage, just steps away from the beach. AC in every room. Beach chairs, shade houses, boogie boards, sand toys, provided. Enjoy the natural beauty of Hawaii in a relaxed setting reminiscent of the old island ways. Walk barefoot to the beach with your morning coffee, or evening Mai Tai. A great place for families: quiet and safe cul-de-sac, steps to a pristine beach and Pu'uloa Park. The cottage is a small (650 square feet), 3 bedroom, and has been recently modernized (new bathroom, floors, Daikin split mini AC system with AC heads and controls in each room). Designed to be very clean and functional, a blend of modern with vintage Hawaiian cottage charm. The house gets a lot of indirect sunlight, and is well lit. The 3 beds are all full size and great quality (bunk bed top is a single). New floor throughout. Each bed has drawers for storage of clothes and your personal belongings. There is a bookshelf in the front we use as "cubbies" so that everyone has a place to put their loose belongings so they are easy to find (keys, wallets, glasses, hats). The dining nook doubles as a laptop work area. There is a full kitchen prep area, refrigerator, stove, microwave. All the pots and cooking utensils are supplied in case you want to cook. The dining nook in the front room seats 4-5 adults. There is parking for 3 vehicles in the front. There is a washer/dryer on the side of the house and an outdoor shower for quick cleanup after the beach. There is a backyard and a clothesline. All parts of the house and front and backyard are available to guests. I can be reached most hours via the messaging application. During wakeful PST hours I respond very quickly. In (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , my wife and I were on vacation on Oahu (she was pregnant with my son at the time). We accidentally drove to the end of the street (Fort Weaver) and found Pu'uloa Park. We wandered out onto the beach and were amazed at how clean and deserted the beach were, and how spacious and nice the park was. Walking back to our car, we saw a "for sale" sign on #4. The neighborhood is very reminiscent of old Hawaii. There is a very narrow strip of land that hugs the beach at the end of Fort Weaver road that makes up the neighborhood. There is a mix of old and new houses typical of an area going through gentrification. The neighbors are very friendly. I am very rarely there, but find that I am constantly being invited to dinner, or someone is bringing food over to me, or dropping by to say "hi." I always feel welcome and part of the neighborhood even though I am rarely there. The geography of the area helps keep things quiet and the unwanted traffic out. Our house is at the very end of Fort Weaver road. The last mile or so of Fort Weaver road is a long, skinny access that parallels the beach and dead ends. Because of this, only residents usually get to the end of this area. This is one likely reason that the park and beach are so sparsely populated. So you have solitude, but can easily escape it to get to food and shopping. The climate is hotter than Waikiki. Ewa is one of the hottest and driest places on Oahu, and it almost never rains. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach, so please watch your little ones. The surf tends to be "interesting" for 10 year olds. Riptides are not too bad. My son loves to run in the surf and get knocked down, and play for hours. If you want more serious surf, I hear that "white sands" which is nearby, is very good for surfing (I have not been there). There is ample parking in the front for at least 3 cars. In the storage box at the rear of the house, we have a little trolley that holds 4 folding chairs that can be pulled to the beach. Each chair has insulated pockets to stuff cold beers into. There are 2 mini "easy ups" that popup into little shade houses. There are boogie boards and sand toys for the kids.
