At the heart of the village and with a lively seating area known as Firle Beach, at the front of the pub, The Ram Inn is very popular with locals and visitors alike. The lack of through traffic, street lights and road markings give the village a timeless quality. Our rambling old brick and flint building has 3 beautiful rooms for wining and dining, each with its own open fire. We are well known for our food and everything on our menu is created in our own kitchen. We have 6 luxurious bedrooms. On the first floor, a quieter room above our dining room, overlooking the country lane. Luxury super king or twin beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, duck down duvets & pillows. Comfortable armchairs, Freeview TV, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi. Ensuite shower room with quality fittings, soft Egyptian cotton towels & bathrobes, range of Bramley bathroom products. Pull-out bed available for a child aged up to 12 years Firle is a diverse and culturally rich community with many artists & craftsmen as well as our farmers and walkers. It has always been slightly eccentric as exemplified by Charleston Farmhouse, where Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant hosted — and indulged the passions of — the Bloomsbury Group. You might find yourself in the bar with a group of farmers, or an elegantly attired couple in full evening dress on their way to the nearby Glyndebourne opera house. The Ram Inn has been at the heart of the vibrant farming community of Firle for over five hundred years. Forming part of the Firle Estate, home of the Gage family, Firle is a perfect Sussex village of quiet lanes, huddled cottages and moss-covered flint walls. Surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs National Park, it is one of the most important chalk landscapes in the country. Walk to Firle Beacon to enjoy panoramic views of the sea, the downs, Lewes and its castle.
