Cozy apartment at the back of the house enjoy nature and birds or be in 2 minutes in the center of town. Apparment is ideal for a couple but we have extra beds for a max or 4 persons. Breda, garrison city, acquired its city rights in 1252 and is therefore one of the first towns in northern Brabant. To properly defend the town, it is walled in at the beginning of the 14th century. The canals lie around the city. Wooden watchtowers stand at strategic points. Under the influence of the Dutch nobleman Jan van Polanen, a small medieval town was created. On Tuesday morning (exactly as now) you can visit the weekly market. It has been there since 1321 to the present day. The municipality of Breda roughly consists of 22 neighborhoods / parts, from Bavel to Inner City to Princenhage and Ginneken / Mastbos. Every neighborhood / part has its own identity, appearance and living comfort. If you want to stay centrally in the city center then you will experience the dynamics of Breda, on the other hand when you visit in the Mastbos you will enjoy child-friendly and serene tranquility with lots of greenery. Size and Location A lot has changed over the years, Breda has developed. The municipality of Breda is one of the ten largest municipalities in the Netherlands and had 176,553 inhabitants in 2012. Breda is located in the west of the province of Noord-Brabant and is surrounded by cities such as Tilburg, Roosendaal and Rotterdam. Thanks to its good connections, other cities in the country can be easily reached. Breda is surrounded by the A59, A27, A16 and A58 motorways. Antwerp can be reached within 30 minutes and with a good hour you are in Amsterdam. Breda is also easily accessible by rail. Developments for the new NS station are in full swing. Breda is connected to the night network and has a direct (Fyra) connection with Amsterdam. Culture, Sport and Tourism There is much to do for both residents and visitors to Breda. You can spend your free time here in all kinds of ways: culinary (Culinary Breda), cultural (Royal Military Academy / Jazz Festival / Breda Live), sporting (Singelloop / NAC), touristy ("Grote Kerk") or recreational. Take a cultural trip to the Chassé theater or experience it or experience a sporty 'Evening NAC'. Culture, sports, shopping, spending the night or an event ... you name it! Learning and studying Breda, named educational city 2012-2013. The city of Breda is demonstrably committed to top quality education at all levels, with a wide range of educational institutions from pre-school education to higher education, ranging from primary education to HBO +. For higher education you can go to one of the best schools in the Netherlands, NHTV and Avans Hogeschool. With the HBO institutions NHTV and Avans and the Dutch defense academy KMA, Breda has a very wide range of education within its city limits. Breda city center The city center of Breda varies, from living to shopping to walking in the late hours, it is all possible. The city center is constantly evolving and consists of various "markets", the Grote Markt, Havermarkt and Vissersmarkt.
