Moorfield Garden Apartment, Glossop, Peak District
A wonderful and relaxing rural retreat. The Apartment is set within the beautiful extensive gardens of a large country mansion. Your visit will be completely private for you to use as you wish. The accommodation is nestled amongst the foothills of kinder scout and the surrounding moors. Excellent views and completely surrounded by all the wildlife the British countryside has to offer. A very clean and well equipped space in the Peak District National Park. The apartment can sleep up to 4 people, the bedroom has one double bed and the living room has a double sofa bed perfect for children. The bathroom is en-suite to the one bedroom so people staying in the living room on the sofa bed will need to go through the bedroom to access the bathroom. If the sofa bed is required prior arrangements must be made as bedding is not stored at the cottage. A travel cot and high chair is also available on request. As stated the cottage is situated on the edge of the moorland in the grounds of Moorfield lodge in Autumn we have the tricky issue of leaf fall! We do our best to keep this clear but until it all falls it’s a little impossible! All the water that enters the cottage is from a fresh spring that serves several other properties this is treated and is absolutely fine to drink but if you prefer chlorine treated water you may wish to bring bottled water for drinking. This can also sometimes have an affect on the water pressure. The Garden flat is surrounded by stunning walks and is a very short drive to Glossop, train station, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and Glossop Golf course. Trains regularly go back and forth to Manchester City centre (taking 20/30mins) for those who fancy a city shop with a peaceful retreat to return to! It is a very peaceful and quiet space making it an ideal getaway! The cottage does have WiFi but due to the location can be a little temperamental, we have looked into this and our provider is looking into ways of boost it. I have never found it an issue as I’m used to it however some think it’s a little slow. Phone signal is very limited, some can get it in the cottage others can’t! You can usually pick it up in the garden or on the drive. The full apartment, enclosed garden area and drive are yours to use in private. There are no stairs and just one small step to the bedroom. Contact details for myself will be in the property in case of emergency, other than that we expect you to use the garden flat as your own and enjoy your break. We only ask that you leave it as you find it and respect the peace and tranquillity of the area. If you are looking to visit Manchester especially for the Christmas markets this could be a perfect option for you! It is a 5minute Taxi ride or car journey to the train station then a 20 minute train journey into Manchester City centre! Trains run back and forth to Glossop every 20 minutes!!! It’s so EASY and a more peaceful and relaxing place to stay instead of a busy city satay! There are amazing walks -A short walk up to Turf Pitts will lead you on to the Penine way and Kinder downfall/Kinder Scout. -A shorter route will take you to Wormstones and back into Glossop where you can enjoy some refreshments. Many other walking routes available leading you into the heart of the Peak District, there are walks for every level of enthusiast! The apartment can sleep up to 4 people, the bedroom has one double bed and the living room has a double sofa bed perfect for children. The bathroom is en-suite to the one bedroom so people staying in the living room on the sofa bed will need to go through the bedroom to access the bathroom. *The fuse box is in the cupboard under the cooker *There is a battery light in the cupboard under the sink *Spare light bulbs can be found in the wooden draws next to the bedroom *The internet in the area is poor, the WiFi in the cottage can be fab but can also be poor! Also phone signal is poor!
