Eretria is a charming seaside town on the island of Evia, approximately one hour from Athens. The two-bedroom apartment has all mod cons and is situated less than 5 minutes’ walk from the beaches of Eretria and seafront with many cafes, tavernas and shops. Two bedroom apartment with an open plan kitchen living room area and a large balcony for outside dining. Eretria has a weekly farmers' market on Saturdays and a number of archaeological sites. There are many other ancient sites, medieval castles, byzantine churches and monasteries on Evia as well as fruitful valleys, forests, caves, gorges, beaches and charming fishing villages. Chalkida, 20 minutes’ drive from Eretria, has a historic harbour with an excellent fish market, a Venetian castle, an excellent beach and a vibrant nightlife. There are also many other coastal villages and other places to visit on the island, including Steni a mountain village with walking paths, waterfalls and local wineries. Transportation Athens International Airport is about 1 hour away by car. The island can be accessed by a large bridge in Chalkida or by ferry from Oropos, which takes around 20 minutes and leaves every half an hour. Alternatively, there is a direct bus to Eretria leaving every hour from the bus station in Athens or busses to Oropos depart every half an hour.
