The Meia Laranja, was the social activity center of the works... it was where people could rest and chat, it was where all the acts, inherent to the community that the work of the countryside demands, could be fulfilled. Hóspedes podem aceder a todo o apartamento bem como à varanda exterior. A Meia Laranja situa-se no Ribatejo, em pleno centro da cidade da Sopa da Pedra - Almeirim. O Jardim da República, onde antigamente se situava o Terreiro do Paço Real fica a poucas passadas do Meia Laranja. Logo ao lado ergue-se o Cine-Teatro e o Mercado Municipal. Caminhando mais um pouco é possível admirar o edifício das Escolas Velhas e a Igreja Matriz de São João Baptista. Continuando o passeio poderá refrescar-se nas sombras das imponentes árvores do Parque da Zona Norte. Aqui poderá fazer exercício físico, assistir aos tradicionais jogos de Petanca ou então tomar uma bebida fresca no café do parque enquanto aprecia os lagos próximos às Piscinas Municipais. Saindo do Parque da Zona Norte, visite a Biblioteca Municipal e perca-se nas tradicionais ruas de pedra da cidade de Almeirim. Passe pela antiga Fonte dos Namorados, pela Praça de Touros de Almeirim e prove a reconfortante Sopa da Pedra acompanhada com uma Caralhota e regada com um bom copo de vinho da região. Além da tradicional Sopa da Pedra, Almeirim é também conhecida pelos seus vinhos. Um passeio até à Quinta da Alorna (2km), Casa Cadaval, Quinta do Casal Branco ou Fiúza&Bright devem também fazer parte do seu itinerário. Meia Laranja is located in Ribatejo, in the heart of the city of Sopa da Pedra - Almeirim. The Garden of the Republic, where the Terreiro do Paço Real formerly stood is just a moments walk from Meia Laranja. Some steps further you will find the Cinema/Theater and the Local Market. Further afield you can admire the Old School buildings and the Igreja Matriz de São João Baptista and it’s intricate architecture. In walking distance the shade under the trees of the North Zone Park are waiting to cool you off. Here, you can indulge in a workout, watch traditional Petanque games or have a cool drink in the park’s café while you enjoy the view of the lake near the Local Pools. Moving further along from the Zona Norte Park, visit the Municipal Library and get lost in the traditionally adorned stone streets of the city of Almeirim. Pass through the old Valentine's Fountain, through the bullring of Almeirim and taste the comforting Sopa da Pedra accompanied with a Caralhota and a timeless glass of wine courtesy of the region. Keep in mind that I n addition to the traditional Stone Soup, Almeirim is also known for its wines. A trip to Quinta da Alorna (2km), Casa Cadaval, Quinta do Casal Branco or Fiúza & Bright should also be part of your itinerary. Almeirim é uma cidade plana, com ciclovias e transportes públicos. A melhor forma de conhecer a cidade é, sem dúvida, caminhando. No entanto, se preferir o conforto do automóvel, poderá deslocar-se a qualquer lado e facilmente encontrará estacionamento gratuito. Almeirim is overall a flat city with bike / bicycle routes and public transport. The best way to get to know the city is without a doubt by walking. However, if you prefer the comfort of a car, do not despair, you can go anywhere and easily find free parking.
