Comfortable and cozy family/group/couples-friendly private apartment on a hill with beautiful view. Quiet area surrounded by woods and fresh air. Kitchen/living room studio with granite countertop, oven, microwave and induction stovetop. Heated hardwood/tile floors, heatpump/AC, WiFi, Smart-TV, free parking. Close to city center and airport (both 12min drive, 20min by LightRail). Groceries/restaurants 5 min walk away. Electronic lock, no key needed, late check-in OK. The apartment is a separate (private) part of our house, and can house up to 4 adults (even 5, if needed, when using both sofa beds in living room). Additionally there is room for a baby crib/cot in the bedroom. Note: Kids 4 years old and younger are free, don't count them when booking. We warmly welcome families with kids, we have a small private playground outdoors including a large trampoline, swings, slide and sand box. There is a deck with chairs/table right outside the entrance facing the morning sun, where you may enjoy your breakfast or morning coffee while listening to the chirping birds and a small creek, and another deck facing the view and evening sun. The apartment has an electronic lock, so you'll simply receive a code from us before arrival and there is no need to meet up to receive a key. You'll have free internet access and parking right outside the house or in front of the garage at the bottom of the hill below the house. The apartment kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, single induction stove-top, oven, microwave oven, pots and pans, sink, toaster, plates, bowls, mugs/cups, cutlery etc. Independent access to laundry upon request. You come and go as you please using the electronic lock. Check-in and check-out time is mostly flexible. Please let us know when you plan to arrive and depart so we can coordinate cleaning for you and the next guests. For exercise we have a power cage with olympic standard weights that you may use upon request. Also nice walking/jogging area around the residential area/woods without running into traffic. 5 minute walk to Bergen's only Stave Church. 5 minute walk to grocery store, restaurants and buses/LightRail. The space is in a separate part of the house on the ground floor, with a separate entrance. Our main living space is on the first floor. We will be available on internet/phone when we're not in the house - otherwise you may ring the doorbell. Our location is a little outside the city center, offering a calm atmosphere bordering the woods with lots of birds, a creek, and fresh air. We love our home and neighborhood for its comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, which is differnet from the city center yet fairly close. The area has the second most expensive average property value in Bergen, with many nice houses and gardens. It is a very safe neighborhood. Many families with children live here. Fantoft Stave Church, a popular tourist attraction, is only a 5 min walk away through the woods. The Bergen Light Rail (Bybanen) is a 7-10 minute walk away. The Light Rail takes you straight to downtown Bergen in about 20 minutes, or right to the airport also in 20 minutes. We don't own a car and love using the Light Rail! A Light Rail/bus ticket is valid for 90 minutes going any direction you want. You may try using the app "Skyss Billett" for 18% discounted fares. Check out the option of buying a Bergen card which will cover public transportation and discounted activities. This can be purchased in the city center (tourist information at fish market or bus/train station). If you drive, the airport is only a 15 min drive away and the city center 10 minutes drive from our house. You may park downtown for around 20 NOK per hour plus 19 NOK for entering the city toll area (note: the "rush-hour" price is 45 per passing between 6:30am and 9am and between 230pm and 4:30pm). Please also note that the Light Rail runs infrequently on Sunday mornings, beginning at around 0730 and then every half-hour. Also, at night the last Light Rail from airport leaves a little before midnight. The airport bus runs later but it will be a 25 minutes walk to our house from the closest stop at Fjøsangerveien by the Rema 1000 Fjøsanger grocery store / intersection to Bønes. To do this walk, go up Statsminister Michelsens veg until you get to the Paradis children's school. Here you can take a shortcut: Cross the wide pedestrian crossing by the school, and take a left to go up on the path right in front of the burgundy condos and around the corner, where there are steps that will take you through to Storetveitvegen above, where you take a right and almost immediately cross the street again at the lights to enter Brennhaugen and then our street Kollen. We will do our best to help you with tips on sights, public transportation, etc. Please note that there is a rather steep 30 meter driveway leading up to the house (hence the view :). The best (only) way to turn your car around at the top is to keep left against the fence when approaching the top, and turn sharp right to face the house when all the way up. The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, induction stove top, microwave oven, water boiler, toaster and a French press to make coffee. Just ask us if you would like to do laundry. Within a 5 min walk there is a grocery store (Rema 1000) and at least three restaurants (one Thai, two sushi).
