When designing this holiday accommodation we tried to consider all of the issues that we had encountered and how we would have like to have been treated. So, with that in mind we have incorporated many small ideas that help to make your holiday enjoyable. We also offer free WIFI. La Metairie Gite makes an excellent base for one or two couples however the layout is unsuitable for children. Relaxing Inside Spacious Ensuite Bedrooms La Metairie Gite is a two generous sized bedroomed gite sleeping a maximum of four people. Stretch out on the foam topped bed or on a Tempur mattress! Both bedrooms have their own ensuite shower rooms. There you will find a choice of shower gels, hair shampoos and conditioners. Hand wash, body lotion and makeup remover are also to found. Hairdryers are placed in each of the bedrooms. Open Plan Kitchen and Lounge Downstairs there is an airy kitchen diner equipped with dishwasher, extra large cooker range, microwave, full-size fridge-freezer, filter coffee maker, toaster and pressure cooker. The kitchen cupboards are well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses and utensils that make it a home from home. It comes complete with teapot and a stove top expresso maker. A comfortable lounge, which includes a 3 seater sofa, 2 reclining armchairs, WIFI and satellite TV, helps you to switch off and unwind. There is also a separate utility room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board plus a further sink unit. Mezzanine Upstairs the mezzanine floor area provides that extra special space to relax in with 2 day beds, side tables and soft lighting. Wi Fi is available for catching up on emails but its also the perfect space to catch up that book you always promised yourself time to read. Heating is provide, in the winter throughout the Gite. Relaxing Outside Swimming Pool Cool off and relax in the 10 x 5 metre heated swimming pool, shared with the owners. Unwind on the Bridgman rattan sun loungers, don't worry about packing pool towels - they are provided. At the touch of a switch the electric pool cover opens and the pool awaits. The pool is heated, in line with weather conditions, because who wants to brave a cold pool. Along with the sun lounger cushions and lounger towels, a selection of sun creams for both the face and body are provided (as is aftersun cream). A solar shower is next to the pool; one of its advantages is it helps to minimise pool chemicals. Private Terrace At the rear of the gite, through the french doors, there is a private sun terrace with more Bridgman rattan furniture and a handy pergola to provide that all important shade. Sit and unwind with views across the fields to the village of Alan and its palace. And for that perfect lunch on a sunny day, grill your meals on your gas plancha. Out and About Atlantic or the Med coast – the choice is yours. Perhaps a trip to Andorra or a drive into the Pyrenees and cross the border into Spain.for lunch time Tapas. Or just enjoying the local restaurants – there’s one less than 3 minutes away in Alan! Visit the local old towns of Aurignac, complete with its unique museum or enjoy Martres Tolosane for exploring its artisan pottery makers, both are less than ten minutes away, by car. Both Aurignac and Martres Tolosane have restaurants boulangeries, banks, shops and tourist offices. Picturesque villages throughout the Haute Garonne and the Ariage await you – this is the area of France ‘profounde' where the focus is on food, land and farming,with the gentle hum of the tractor! Cafe and restaurants abound and life goes at it’s own pace. Markets abound, some small others meandering around several streets selling everything from fish to fruit, from shoes to berets. Watch as the French select the freshest ingredients and carefully check the new season produce. And, if you don’t feel like cooking, buy some of the hot food ready to take back to the gite - from paella to spit roasted chicken and saute potatoes! This region has something for everyone. Our Rates There’s no hidden extras. As it is so hard to go home after just one week with so much to see and enjoy in this area, stay a further week and receive a further discount - see our prices for more information. Any additional guests will be at the owner's discretion but are subject to a charge of 100€ per person, per night. This is payable at time of arrival by either cheque or cash. Apologies but all payments are only in Euros. Getting to La Metairie La Metairie Gite has good access to transport links. We are only 10 kms from junction 23 (Martres Tolosane) of the A64 motorway. By Air Toulouse: There are regular flights into Toulouse with both BA and Easyjet and Ryanair will commence flights later in 2016. There are also flights to other UK local airports. Toulouse airport serves a number of european countries. Other Local French airports: In addition to Toulouse airport there are also several local airports in the region with connections to many local airports in the UK. The airports are Tarbes/Lourdes, Carcassonne, Pau and, taking longer but with a scenic tour, Bergerac. Please note a car is essential to get to La Metairie Gite and for your stay. By Road France has good motorways and pleasant scenic routes. The motorways are quicker with good stopping areas but be ready for toll charges. By Ferry Why not start your holiday with a mini cruise! Brittany Ferries run regular crossings from Portsmouth and Plymouth to both Bilbao and Santander in Spain. There are good motorway links from both of these ports to La Metairie Gite. With so many options for getting to La Metairie we offer flexible booking dates, not just Saturday to Saturday.
