This stunning barn conversion sits in the heart of the WW2 Normandy landings region of Normandy. It has a light airy feel with and open plan sitting/dining and kitchen area whilst remains in keeping with it's 18th century origins. Original beams abound upstairs, tastefully furnished bedrooms with comfy beds and a modern shower room, all makes for a very comfortable stay. This stone barn and extensive garden combines 18th century charm with open plan modern living. You have a fully equipped kitchen and outside barbecue and terrace, so eating at home is no problem. This, combined with 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 shower rooms, (one of which is fully wheelchair accessible), makes for a great family holiday. Guests have access to the whole house and garden and we now have a ground floor bedroom and large wet room that is fully wheelchair accessible. We provide some garden games for the summer months for family enjoyment when you’re not visiting the fantastic local beaches and museums etc. Private parking is also provided. We live just next door and always available to our guests to help with any advice or problems they may have. Sitting in the heart of the Normandy countryside, Le Pommier de Houesville has everything to offer. We are only 15 minutes from our nearest beach (Utah) where miles and miles the most beautiful sand can be enjoyed in comfort as it is never crowded, even in the height of Summer. The region is abound with WW2 history with many museums open to the public all the year round. These, combined with pretty French towns and markets and Nature reserves means there is no excuse to be bored. There is something for everyone! The best way to get around is by car, but if you have arrived with your bicycles, there are numerous dedicated cycle tracks for you to enjoy the countryside. The nearest local train station is in nearby Carentan les Marais with regular direct routes to Cherbourg, Caen and Paris. If you wish to see the historical sights however, there are also numerous tour guides that provide motor transport. There is an extensive ‘Welcome pack’ provided, including bread, croissants, jams, butter, cheese, milk and orange juice. Plus wine and beers for the adults to help you enjoy your arrival! So no need to worry if you arrive too late for the local supermarkets. You won’t go hungry or thirsty at Le Pommier!
