Guests will have full, exclusive use of The Woodshed, enjoying the sociable living/dining area, as well as the beautiful patio area which boasts a sheltered seating area, meaning it can be used in the famously unpredictable British weather. If however the weather turns a bit nippy, the central heating is controlled by a thermostat so guests can set the temperature to their own desired need. THINGS TO DO There is of course an abundance of things to do in the area. Fernhurst is in the South Downs National Park. Here are just a few ideas: Healthy Ideas • Cycling: being in the heart of the South Downs, cycling is a popular sport in the area. The 20% climb up Bexley Hill is quite the challenge. • Walking: The South Downs Way offers views across Sussex, all the way down to the Sea. Local walks can also be planned from the Map of the Area, in the Dining Room. • Kitesurfing and Windsurfing: There are numerous windsurfing and kitesurfing spots along the South Coast, none more picturesque than West Wittering Beach. • Sailing: head to Chichester Harbour. Indulgent Ideas • Wine tasting: Upperton Vineyards in Tillington, and there are a number of others in the area. • Beer tasting: Langham Brewery, Lodsworth. • Gin Tasting: Lurgashall Winery, Lurgashall. This stunning pub is run by Tom Sellars (of Michelin-starred Restaurant Story (London) fame), about a 5 minute drive from Fernhurst. -The Duke of Cumberland, Henley. -The Horse Guards Inn, Tillington. Situated on the edge of Petworth Park. Local Food Shopping There is a greengrocers in Fernhurst called Crossways Fruiterers and a Newsagents. There is a Waitrose, Tesco’s and Marks and Spencer’s in Haslemere. The Woodshed is located in a beautiful village in the heart of the South downs national park, so there are plenty of countryside walks and bicycle rides on the doorstep, however it is recommended that guests would get the most out of their stay with a car, enabling them to enjoy the many local attractions on offer. There is a limited bus service, details of which can be found on the internet. The nearest train station is in Haslemere (3 miles from property) with a direct link to London Waterloo - 50 minute journey.
