Charming character house in medieval village

In this small French market town, in what we call the "Bridge House" there is a small, wonderful, fully equipped kitchen and a big dining/living room area upstairs. There are two bedrooms upstairs and there is a small shared bathroom with a shower for those two bedrooms to share. Downstairs, the Romantic bedroom is accessed off the kitchen and connects to the Romantic bathroom which has a luxurious claw foot tub with instant hot water. This is a large en-suite room. There is a terrasse which guests can use, but be advised this is a shared space with the homeowners who can access it via a back alley entrance (mostly access during your stay will be when you are out for the day, or when we need to water the plants!). We are surrounded by gorgeous countryside, Cathar castles, hiking/riding/cycling trails, vineyards close by, and 4 km from a large recreational lake. The large village has a pharmacy, florist, bakery, two butchers, a tabac which is also a bread depot & newspaper shop, a small but well-stocked grocery store with lots of organic produce on hand, and a small Carrefour supermarket. Your hosts live in the house next door and can help you with tourist advice and local knowledge. Chalabre is located 45 minutes from Carcassonne Airport, 90 minutes from Toulouse Airport, 4 hours from Barcelona. In summer we recommend you bring lake shoes as we are 4 km from Lac Montbel.
