Bickton is a small hamlet set on the River Avon just south of picturesque town Fordingbridge in Hampshire. You can walk along a footpath to the town across the watermeadows in about 20 minutes. The path forms part of the Avon Valley footpath that runs from Salisbury to Christchurch. The path can be muddy following rain so you may need Wellington boots. The New Forest National Park is about one mile to the east. There you can roam on foot, by bike or on horseback along the miles of paths and visit the beautiful villages. Twenty minutes to the north by car is the wonderful cathedral city of Salisbury with its famous 400-foot spire and medieval close. Thirty minutes to the south is Bournemouth and Poole with welcoming sandy beaches. Beyond is the Jurassic coast of Dorset with stunning walks to explore. There is a regular bus service that runs every 30 minutes between Salisbury and Bournemouth. The bus stops at the turning into Bickton. In the summer there is an open-topped hop-on/hop-off bus that follows circular routes through the New Forest allowing ample opportunities to explore the whole area. The studio is can accommodate two adults but does not have the facilities and is not set up for children and infants.
