The Coach House sits within a beautiful walled garden. Both pool, ( heated from June 1st - Sep 30th) & garden are shared with the main 17th Century house. Just 1hr from London, 5 mins from the M3 & perfect for a break or business. Good local places to eat & country walks. We operate a min. 2 night stay policy and sleeps 3. Cont. breakfast included. Recently renovated. Luxury beds. Antique furniture and faded linens. Restful and relaxing. English afternoon Tea served Apr-Jul on Wed. & Thurs. The Coach House is separate from the main house and your own private space to enjoy for a minimum 2 night stay. Upstairs there is a light double aspect bedroom with 5ft Vi-Spring luxury bed & quality bed linen. Running the width of the building is an elegant relaxed sitting/dining room with TV, Wifi, comfortable sofa and furnishings, a generous table for dining/work space and views (double aspect) over the garden. A bright modern kitchen (with fridge, toaster, iron & board) leads off the dining area and tea & coffee making facilities are provided. You are welcome to prepare light meals if you wish. A separate lobby leads to a newly-fitted bath room with power shower over the bath. There is also a shaving point. Downstairs there is a small bedroom that can be rented in conjunction with the space upstairs (shares upstairs bathroom). There is a standard 3ft Vi spring bed and there are limited views over the garden. We want you to feel at home and you are welcome to explore the lovely 1.5 acre garden, planted with yew hedges and to form a series of 'distinct garden rooms'. You can lounge on luxury chairs and day beds and swim in the outdoor heated pool in summer, shared with the hosts. There is a small Weber BBQ available for your use. Talking of eggs we keep rare-breed chickens up the garden and they lay tiny, pretty eggs that you can try! Please be aware that whilst we are delighted to accept small children, parents are responsible for ensuring that the furnishings are not spoiled in any way or we will need to make a charge for replacements. The interior space is for your own private use. There is parking available on the street. You will be given a key fob to open the drive gates and your own door key for the Coach House. The pool is always heated in June, July and August and you are welcome to use it between 8am and 9pm. If it is warm enough we heat the pool through September too but we can’t always guarantee it. A gate at the end of the garden leads directly out to lovely walks across the fields on the edge of the village. Please note that with the majority of rooms on the first floor, access is more challenging for those who find stairs difficult to manage. When you are with us, we will normally be available, either in person or by phone, to help you get the most out of your stay. We'll be delighted to recommend where to eat, best travel routes, local walks and places to visit and above all we want you to feel at home while you are here. This is a historic and special place to visit. The handsome Georgian High Street boasts a variety of shops and places to eat such as the Bel & Dragon and Le Creperie and on fine days people like to pass the time at pavement cafes. There is a 12th century church with Reyntiens windows and ancient Odiham Castle where King John stayed the night before he signed the Magna Carta. The village is surrounded by lovely countryside for walking and there are boats to hire on the canal. Villagers host a number of traditional village events each year including the annual fete & dog show which attracts more than 2,000 people on the 2nd Saturday in July. Jane Austen's house at Chawton is just 30 minute's from here and the National Trust's elegant 16th Century property - The Vyne is a local jewel. We are a very easy distance from London by car (M3 junction 5 is 7 minutes away), or by train from Waterloo to Winchfield station (5 minutes drive) or Basingstoke (15 minutes drive). Heathrow airport is 45 minutes' drive and taxi's are easily arranged with Footprint Taxis. Included in your stay: As well as coffee and tea-making facilities, we provide a basket filled with things to get you started for breakfast including orange juice, milk, granola and muesli, sourdough bread, butter, jams, marmalade & local honey. New for 2022! You may book AFTERNOON TEA in the main house at 3.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursday between the start of April and end of July. Tea is served as a series of 7 individual courses and needs to be booked in advance on our dedicated website. We are able to accommodate up to 10 people each afternoon and the price is £25/head. Do let us know if you are interested and we can check availability over the time you are with us.
