Seaside Villa Swedish Archipelago

A jewel in the Swedish Archipelago where you can step into another time where life is simple and peaceful. Our seaside villa was built in 1864 and is on the historic register of homes. The house has been featured on HGTV and featured in many magazines. This historic Villa located in the village of Dalarö in the Stockholm Archipelago is a home not to be missed. The owners have lovingly restored the 1864 villa over the last 20 years to provide a designed interior that is easy to relax in. The house has been featured in books and magazines as well as was the feature on House and Garden T.V. The furnishings are family antiques as well as reproductions from Ann Miläng´s company St. Barths Home There are 3 bedrooms , one of which has an en suite bathroom with spa tub and shower. There are 2 more bathrooms, a custom kitchen with La Canache stove and Smeg fridge. A large Veranda Living room allows the light to come in through the beautiful glass windows, leading to a dining room furnished with more Gustavian furnishings. There is a den/ t.v. room as well as another large living area that looks onto the garden filled with furnishings with a seaside theme. The property includes a balcony off the master bedroom, a deck outside the kitchen for outdoor dining and another deck off the main entrance. The gardens are filled with roses, lilacs ,lavender and jasmine. We are about 5 minutes walk to the beaches and only a quick stroll to the seaside dock that looks out onto the islands for a swim or pic nic. The village is also only a couple of minutes away by foot to get fresh bread at the bakery, fresh fish , and a lovely country store with every gourmet you can imagine including imported cheeses, charcuterie, vegetables and fruits as well as seafood and meat. A local supermarket is right around the corner for all your basic needs. Ferries go from the harbor to all the surrounding islands. As an American married to a Swede and having brought our children up here we can truly say this is one little jewel that is unique and very special. You can completely relax and forget the stress of everyday life or go to Stockholm to enjoy culture, fine restaurants , museums and much more. Here you will enjoy the combination of a charming seaside village yet have the chance to also visit the capital of Stockholm any time you wish.
