The Sugar House

Formerly a maple sugar house with high ceilings, a gas log stove and radiant floor heating. The interior is rustic and full of warmth and charm. Private location, dog friendly, and just 5 minutes from Interstate 91 and 7 miles from downtown Brattleboro. A great anniversary get away! The Sugar House is tucked into the hillside just below the Scott Farm Apple Orchard and Market, home to nearly 130 varieties of heirloom apples and other fine fruits. It is a quiet spot bordered by lilacs and another house can't be seen from it. You will have the house to yourselves and it is fully furnished, with a complete kitchen and comfortable bed & bath linens. The gas fireplace and radiant floor heating offer a warm and cozy retreat from cold winter temperatures. In the summer, there's air conditioning to keep you cool. We will provide you with access information and complete description of the house contents, but otherwise will leave you to yourselves. If needed, we are just a phone call away and our office just a few hundred yards down the road. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and The Sugarhouse has lots of privacy. In spring, watch local maple syrup producers collect the sap from nearby maple trees and visit a working Sugarhouse next door to sample this liquid gold! In the summer, hiking and biking are right out the front door. Visit summer music festivals and one of the most popular Farmers Markets in New England, located a few miles away in Brattleboro. In the fall, the colors are brilliant on the hillside across the road and the apple harvest is in full swing. In the winter, down hill skiing is less than an hour away, cross country ski near by or snow shoe right out the front door. This property has a lot to offer any time of the year.... You'll need to depend on yourselves to get around, either bike, walking or your car. The roads are safe and perfect for mountain or cross bikes. The area is rich in diversions; art museums, local artisans, farmers markets, regionally renowned jazz center, great restaurants and shopping, 3 micro-breweries, dairy farms, cheese makers, day lily gardens, and close to 2 rivers, West & the Connecticut, with kayaking and canoeing rentals nearby.
