The Old School House, Ascot, Berkshire

Beautiful small self-contained character cottage set within private garden, one mile from Ascot. Open plan studio room with sitting area, kitchenette and bedroom area; en suite shower room/WC. Perfect for 1-2 guests looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay, whether for business or pleasure. It is ideal for visitors to Ascot Races, Windsor, close to Heathrow and a lovely rural retreat less than one hour from central London. The Old School House is offered on a self catering basis, although we provide a basic welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, breakfast cereals, snacks and fruit. The comfortable sitting area has a sofa and armchair, coffee table and a small dining table. There is Wi-Fi available, a Bluetooth speaker and TV with Freeview channels. We supply a selection of books, magazines, board games, maps and guidebooks. The cottage has a small kitchen with a one-ring hob, microwave, refrigerator, kettle and toaster, plus cups, glasses, tableware, cutlery, cooking utensils and basic pots and pans for simple cooking and heating food. The bedroom has a kingsize bed with hypoallergenic pillows and duvet, and the linens are 100% cotton. Drawer and hanging wardrobe space is provided together with a luggage storage rack. The bathroom has a shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail; we provide towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. There is also an iron and ironing board. The Old School House is a separate building in our garden, and during your stay you can come and go at any time. You are welcome to use the garden. We would ask you to not invite additional visitors. We live next door to The Old School House and we’re usually at home if you need any assistance or information. The Old School House is in Cheapside, a small village one mile from the town of Ascot, and on the edge of Windsor Great Park. It is a quiet, friendly and safe neighbourhood, and has an excellent local pub just a 5-minute walk away! Cheapside is best accessed by car or taxi, although there is a local bus service between Ascot and Windsor. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk to Ascot. By prior arrangement, we are happy to pick up and/or drop off our guests from/to Heathrow Airport. We make a charge for this service. We can also offer other lifts, let us know where you want to go. We do not allow smoking inside The Old School House, but you are welcome to do so outside. You might also meet our three cats and our chickens in the garden.
