Chateau de Serrigny, Chablis-Serrigny, The Coach House..

The Coach House is the latest accommodation to be completed at the Chateau de Serrigny- Chablis. With our usual high standard of fixtures and fittings this house is unique including a high walkway linking the two upper bedrooms. It is absolutely ideal for winter stays as well as summer and we have provided this house with hot/cold air conditioning plus a real flame fire. The accommodation is one of the original buildings to the Chateau. A two floor property that once sat over the stables and horses below. An entrance hall leads to an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room with a large central chimney fitted with an Italian real flame, remote control, gas fire . There is a solid oak floor throughout and the lounge consists of a large sofa, a suspended 50” TV and music system . The dining area easily seats 6 and is located next to the original goods winding crane which dates back to 1880 and is now used to raise and lower the two large wax candle chandeliers. (Candles are available). Over 30 lights, light up the vaulted ceiling and a ceiling fan helps to circulate the air. From the dining table the main window provides a panoramic view of the front park of the Château and the village church on the hill with beautiful sunsets in the evening. All other windows to the rear are porthole style stone originals with modern double glazed interior windows and look towards the dovecote tower. Further round the room there is the large, well appointed hand made oak kitchen with oak work tops and electric hob cooker and oven. A butler style sink looks out to the front of the property and all the usual electrical items are included. ( Coffee machine/ dishwasher/ microwave and large fridge freezer). This main room leads off via a short corridor to the bathroom . A roll top bath sits centrally and is surrounded by basin, toilet and separate walk-in shower. Also located on this floor is the master bedroom which is carpeted and has a 2m wide four poster bed, two wardrobes and drawers. The spiral staircase rises up to the magnificent bridge walkway which spans the sitting room and kitchen and leads to two more carpeted double bedrooms at each end in the loft . The bridge is lit by uplighters automatically when you cross it. Both up and down lighters illuminate the rest of the vaulted ceiling above. The property, including the upstairs bedrooms, is fully air conditioned. The master bedroom and bathroom also have central heating radiators and there is an electric towel rail in the bathroom too so it’s never cold ! ————————————————————————————————— As a general overview all the Chateau holiday homes provide a very high standard of accommodation, we have the 2 other large properties and 2 equally well appointed smaller gatehouses (advertised separately) . So even if this property isn't ideal for you its possible we have one that is. Simply enquire if you are unsure and we will advise you. All properties are equipped with flat screen TVs, DVD's, satellite channels, washing machine( (if not fitted is available) , dishwasher, microwave, wifi and an extra UK plug socket. Each house has been carefully restored and designed to give everyone complete privacy and give the ability to holiday without mixing should you wish. The Hayloft, Farmhouse and the Old Forge have an independent shared drive and gates whilst the gatehouses use the main Chateau gates and have private parking in front of each house respectively next to their individual gardens. The Farmhouse is a spacious property sleeping a maximum of 9 adults and 2 children and has great views of the Chateau and grounds at its rear. Now with large Swedish log fired hot tub too. The Forge , the former stable block and farriers accommodation, sleeps a maximum of 6 ( 8 can be accommodated on request) .If necessary the dining room can be arranged as a bedroom for less mobile guests, with the ground floor toilet and shower room . The gatehouses are similar to each other but the Eastern gatehouse now has a private Skargard hot tub in its garden and both sleep parties of 2-4. All properties have their own outside tables , chairs, BBQ and sun loungers . Bed linen and bath towels are included in the price for all houses. Every Sunday there is a fantastic Sunday market in Chablis village for fresh produce and there are more than 5 big supermarkets/ bakers etc within a 10 minute drive.. Children are very welcome and there is a dedicated play area for them with two trampolines, slide, swings and even a mini castle for them to play in. We also provide virtually all baby equipment should you not wish to bring your own including travel cots, baths and high chairs.... cutting down the endless packing and unpacking required ! With 28 acres of private park for those of you who want peace and quiet its easy to find. As we now begin to restore the lodges in the park many of the woodland tracks can now be accessed allowing pleasant walks without even leaving the grounds . There are also a number of good golf courses locally beginning to reopen. And of course a huge number of great wines are now available locally and onsite with "inhouse" tastings possible or if you prefer, just a short walk away from your door.
