Luxury B&B in Peak District, the Belfield Room.
Welcome to Sunnyside B&B in the lovely moorland village of Longnor. Sunnyside was built approximately two hundred years ago. The building still contains many original features including oak beams, open fireplaces and stone floors. Our guest en-suite bedroom (the Belfield Room) is spacious and comfortable.. The guest lounge, with an open log fire, is a wonderful space to relax. Breakfasts are healthy, plentiful and filling. Pets are welcome. Enjoy your stay. Sunnyside B&B has two beautiful en-suite bedrooms – The Belfield and Vernon Rooms (see other airbnb page for details of the Vernon room). The Belfield Room has been recently refurbished to a high standard, yet retains many of its original heritage features. The Belfield room has an en-suite shower with a large rainfall shower head, a hand-held shower and body jets. There is a traditional centrally heated towel rail in the en-suite room and the complimentary toiletries are organic and ethically sourced. Hair dryers are available and there is good access to wifi. We have put a lot of thought into the bedrooms at Sunnyside B&B in order to create restful and peaceful environments where guests can feel at home. There are crisp white sheets, hyper allergenic wool duvets and fine chairs for you to relax in after a warm bath. You will find fresh flowers in your room to welcome you on your arrival. Organic and speciality tea and filter coffee are available in guest rooms, alongside complimentary chocolates and scrumptious biscuits. When you stay at Sunnyside B&B, you don’t have to worry about using your car. The house is located close to the centre of the village with easy access to local amenities (pubs, shops, restaurant and chip shop). Conjointly there are many beautiful walks, fell runs and bike rides you can enjoy straight from the door step. Many guests have commented on how much they enjoy relaxing in the guest lounge. There is a cosy log fire that you can sit by after a long day in the hills and an extensive library of outdoor and adventure books available for you to read. Afternoon tea is served in the guest lounge on request. There is off-road parking and a lockable garage where you can leave bicycles overnight. Pets are very welcome and we do not make additional charges for accommodating them. If you wish to bring your pet with you though, please inform us when booking. We too have pets – a very friendly dog, Freddie, and cat, Strider, who will no doubt be around to welcome you when you arrive. There is a very peaceful and private country garden that is available for you to enjoy whilst staying at Sunnyside. The garden has splendid views of the local countryside and there is a summer house you can relax in if the weather turns a little chilly. The village of Longnor lies within the Peak District National Park. The village has two pubs, a post office, local stores, a coffee shop and a fish and chip shop. There are many beautiful walks and leisure trails that you can access straight from Sunnsyide B & B. There are both easy and more challenging walks, including Chrome and Parkhouse Hill, The Roaches and the High Peak and Monsal Trails. The opportunities for fell running are amazing. The roads are quiet and extremely scenic for road cycling and The Cat and Fiddle, Gun Hill, Winnats and Snake Pass are all within a days ride for the enthusiast. There are many greenways and bridle ways nearby if you like off-road and mountain biking. If you are a climber, then you will be spoilt for choice with many crags and bouldering areas within easy driving distance. Jane and I love to share information about our local area and are available to respond to any questions you have. We can advise on fell running, cycling, climbing and walking and have much knowledge and expertise about these pursuits in our local area. We can also provide you with information on interesting historic places to visit and super places to eat. Private parking is available. There is also plenty of parking available on Church Street. There is a bus service available that provides access to nearby towns. Rail links serve the local towns of Macclesfield and Buxton. We provide a substantial vegetarian Scandinavian style breakfast that includes: yoghurt, cereals, fruit compote, cheese, boiled eggs, fresh warm bread and toast, a selection of home-made jams and local honey, organic tea, roasted coffee and fruit juice. Additionally, daily specials include such delights as home-made waffles with maple syrup, fruit smoothies and warm scones. Both Jane and I are outdoor people so we know how important it is to have a healthy and filling breakfast at the start of the day. All of our food is vegetarian and we can cater for vegan and special dietary requirements on request. Breakfast is served between 8:00 and 9:30 hours. With advance notice, we can provide packed lunches and a light and healthy meal in the evening. We do not sell alcohol on the premises but you are welcome to bring your own if you would like to sit and have a tipple by the fire in the evening. If you arrive wet and cold, after a long day in the hills, there are facilities for drying your clothes and footwear. Additionally, if you need support with baggage transfer, we can assist (please discuss at time of booking).
