Welcome to the Great Hall Penthouse, a 3 bed apartment in the heart of Winchester. Situated in West Gate in the center of town, the property is arranged over two floors, overlooking Winchesters Great Hall and Law Courts. The location is ideal for visiting the city's various attractions, amenities or the Registry Office. A 3 minute walk from the mainline train station and minutes from the High Street and Winchesters historic sites with the University and Royal Hampshire Hospital on its doorstep. Our guest experience is really important to us, so we like to provide as much info as we can and little items that help you land in an unfamiliar place. Our apartment is situated in a quiet residential building, the apartment is split-level, with spacious accommodation over 1400+ sqft and is accessed from the building lobby by either the lift/elevator or by staircase. The apartment entrance opens into a sizeable hallway with bedrooms 2 & 3 on the entrance level and the master suite on the second level via an interior staircase. The hallway opens into a spacious and light open plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen area with street facing balcony. The balcony features a little table and two chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with double ovens, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and table ware, cooking utensils and a kettle. On arrival, a small welcome basket of locally sourced essentials will help you settle in, such as milk, bread, tea, coffee, eggs and a little welcome treat. The dining area comfortably sits 6 at the table with room to expand, while the sitting area features a large comfortable sofa and large screen smart TV (BT and Freeview). High speed broadband/wifi is available throughout the property. The bedrooms: 1. Master Suite with a California King bed occupying the top floor of its own with ensuite bathroom, double closets, its own discreet balcony and washer / dryer facilities. 2. Second en-suite bedroom with queen bed with its own built in closet, views of the Great Hall, a writing desk & chair and balcony access. 3. Third bedroom with Queen bed, also features a built in closet and has direct access to the family bathroom. All bedrooms are furnished to a high standard, featuring luxury bedding and very comfortable beds. We provide fluffy towels and shower gel. The apartment also benefits from a separate utility room with washer and dryer, and a cleaning station. A stair gate, high chairs and travel cot can be provided for child safety if needed. The apartment is located in an apartment building which is accessed through a building lobby opening onto a stair case and elevator. Parking is available in Tower Street metered public car park, which is less than a minutes walk from the building. These bays are untethered so you will need your own charge cable with you. Available to handover and collect keys, the owner is also available to advise on amenities, activities and all of the great things to do in and around Winchester and its locale. Situated in West Gate, the apartment benefits from being within minutes of most of what the city has to offer. Its historic Peninsula Barracks, the military museums, Winchesters Great Hall & Round Table and site of the original Norman era castle. It is also within minutes of Winchesters Cathedral and its famous Christmas markets, while Hotel du Vin and Jewry Streets restaurants are an easy 5 minute walk. The farmers market - open on Thursday to Sunday is likewise a couple of minutes away. If you're after Michelin star restaurants - then the Black Boy and River Cottage are easily accessible which is complimented by plenty of hidden culinary pleasures in and around Winchester like Tom's Deli (an authentic Italian eatery), The Orangerie (amazing breakfasts), The Ivy Rooms. Polpo Negro a 15 minute drive away in Arlesford (probably the finest tapas restaurant on the south coast) with cosy little cocktail bars like The Cabinet Rooms, Incognito and the Black Bottle. As Winchester is a compact city, all of the major features and sites are within walking distance. The train station is a mere 3 minute walk, while the University and Hospital are a 5 to 10 minute walk up the Romsey Road. The Winchester end of the South Downs Way, is approximately 25 minutes walking from the apartment.
