The old school house near Hengersberg / Deggendorf

Surrounded by quiet nature you will enjoy this spacious apartment on the 1st floor of the old school-house. The house is encircled by a large garden and is located overlooking the village, the forests and fields. Those liking peace and tranquility and who are not afraid of a wood-burning stove, will feel at home here in the large rooms with a view of the Donautal. Day-trips, ski areas and cities like Passau and Regensburg are all well within a short car drive away. The school-house was built in 1914 and was a functioning school until the 1960’s. It is comprised of two large apartments – one on the mezzanine floor, one on the first. The apartment is freshly renovated with elegant antique furniture and is decorated in a lovingly and simply manor. It is heated by a wood-burning stove. Warm water for the bathroom and kitchen is provided by an electric heater. The rooms are spacious with tall ceilings and large windows to the north, west and south. There are two bedrooms, each with four sleeping options. The sleeping-sofas in the living- and dining-rooms can also be opened up for two additional guests. The kitchen is equipped with enough dishes, cutlery and cooking pots for ten people and has a stove, an oven , a refrigerator and a sink. The spacious bathroom with a toilette and bathtub also offer a wonderful view of the fields. For children there are board games, toys, the large garden, forest and fields. A baby bed and high chair are also available. Bed sheets, hand- and dish-towels are provided. As a guest in the house, you will have access to the washing machine, as well as the garden with garden furniture and a grill. You can use the garden. A seating area with a table is provided. There is a large, flat area on top of the garages with a rudimentary football goal. The garden is large and labyrinthine in nature and has been left as much as possible to it’s own devices. There is a grill. Traveling by train – please arrive in Deggendorf. Since 2017 there is a “call – bus”, which will bring you from the train station in Deggendorf to the start of the village. From here it is about a 10 minute walk to the school house. The bus route times for route 8230 can be found on the homepage from the German train company (Website hidden by Airbnb) (websites are hidden by Airbnb). A taxi will cost about 25 € each way. Traveling by car – the school-house is located just a few kilometers away from the autobahn. There are packing places directly in front of the house. Please be aware that the house is heated by a wood-burning stove. Paper, wood and briquettes are provided for you. Warm water is provided by an electric heater. It is possible to smoke in the kitchen.
