The property is situated above the Hope Valley overlooking Hathersage and facing Stanage Edge. The two adjoining buildings are at an angle to one another which results in a spectacular 210 degree view of the Peaks. We now have Ultrafast (100 Mbs) WiFi throughout property. The first building contains the large farmhouse kitchen and utility room, equipped with modern electric range cooker/ induction hob, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. A staircase from here leads to a large private bedroom with king size bed and adjoining ensuite facilities with bath. Walking through a glazed hallway ( a perfect place for someone to sit and enjoy the view ) you come into the second building with large dining area with galleried landing and lounge with wood burning stove for extra coziness (logs provided ) . Large smart TV with additional Now TV entertainment package (additional sports package available on request). This area also has a downstairs single bedroom with cloakroom facilities nearby; another staircase leads to a king size bedroom with ensuite shower room, a bedroom with double bed, another single bedroom and a family bathroom with a large bath and shower with over bath glass shower screen. The property has oil fired central heating throughout . There is ample parking for up to 5 cars, a fenced garden area above the property and patio area overlooking the valley with a large outdoor table and chairs plus gas fired barbecue for outdoor cooking. Our aim is for you to have everything you need to to enjoy a relaxing visit to the area. We supply all bed linen and towels, basic toiletries and toilet rolls, essential household items such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cooking oil, tea, coffee, sugar, etc plus a welcome hamper of bread, milk, cake or biscuits and a bottle of wine. Guests have access to all areas of the property and gardens, except the garage . Free Wi Fi. The local village of Hathersage offers amenities, shops, pubs and restaurants as well as things to see and do! Hathersage Swimming Pool - This heated outdoor lido is extremely popular so don't forget to pack your swimming costume! Stanage Edge - Stanage Edge is a gritstone escarpment famous for climbing and walking. Just on the other side of the valley from the barn, this is an excellent spot to watch the sun go down. National Trust properties nearby - Longshaw Estate and Hardwick Hall Chatsworth House - The famous Chatsworth house has something to do for all the family with a farmyard and adventure playground for kids, extensive gardens and house tours. Haddon Hall - Situated just outside Bakewell, this is a stunning property to have survived from the Middle Ages and well worth a visit for its house and gardens. Bakewell- For local delicacies look no further than Bakewell, home of the Bakewell pudding. With lots of interesting cafes and shops it is a very popular tourist destination. Eyam- The barn is also a short drive from Eyam which is famous for its plague epidemic in 1665. There is a small museum which tells the history of the famous Plague Village. Matlock and Matlock Bath- Lots of attractions in this area for all the family which include Gullivers Kingdom, Heights of Abraham, antique shops and a seaside tourist feel to Matlock Bath. The Monsal Trail- This disused train line is now a cycle path with tunnels and points of interest along the route. There is a bike hire centre just outside Bakewell where you can even hire tandems. Ladybower Reservoir- Another great place to hire bikes is the Ladybower reservoir which is often referred to as 'the lake district of the peaks'. Caverns- There are a number of local caverns to explore in the Hope Valley including Treak Cliff Cavern, the Blue John Cavern and Speedwell Cavern. Famous for its Blue John stone. For rainy days why not visit Sheffield or Manchester, both within an hour's drive from Hathersage. There is a regular local train service to Sheffield and Manchester from Hathersage station. Manchester International Airport is only 35 miles away and takes just over one hour to reach by car. Regular bus service from Hathersage to Sheffield. Minimum 3 night stay. We offer 3 night weekend breaks from Friday to Monday, 4 night midweek breaks from Monday to Friday or 7 night week breaks from Friday to Friday ( or Monday to Monday by arrangement)
