Our spectacular countryside supports diverse outdoor activities, cultural events and Richmond a Georgian Town with a Theatre, Castle, Station Cinema/Bistro and swimming pool. Easy access from A1 and to historic cities York, Harrogate, Durham. Vine Barn is outstanding value. Its spacious rooms retain cosy home comforts and warm central heating plus an electric wood-burning effect stove in the kitchen/diner and gas coal effect stove in lounge. The ground floor fitted kitchen is well equipped, including electric kettle and cooker, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with icebox and toaster, plus tea towels and cleaning liquids. Breakfast is not included but tea/coffee, sugar and condiments are. The Lounge is spacious and warm with a sofa and separate double sofa-bed for additional guests. Free Wi Fi and T.V. with Netflix, Catch-Up and DVD player. Patio doors lead from the lounge to a sunny conservatory overlooking a private beautifully maintained flower garden with lawn, chairs and table. The main bathroom has a bath with overhead electric shower, toilet and washbasin. Towels, hair dryer, shampoo/soap, toilet rolls included. A separate shower room also has a toilet and washbasin plus towels. The spacious bedroom has a comfy, king sized bed and a Juliet Balcony with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Bed linen and pillows are provided and a wardrobe plus chest of drawers. There is private parking on site. Also use of the washing machine and drying facility in a separate building. Pets are not allowed. From Bellerby main road guests turn across the end of the village green on to a gravelled drive with a sign on the garden wall identifying Vine Barn. Drive between two houses. Pull in your drivers mirror if you have a medium sized car. There is safe, free alternative parking on a side road opposite our driveway for guests with large vehicles too wide to go up our drive. At the top of the drive is a gate with the holiday cottage on the left. At the end of the cottage turn sharp left and park in front of the main entrance as far forward as possible allowing access to drive past. Bellerby Village has its own Pub with Grub at the 'Cross Keys' We are in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and Pennine Way Coast to Coast walk. There are many walks starting in Bellerby easy to hard short or long and our 'Welcome Pack' details many of these walks or you can ask Jan as she walks a lot. This is also a cycling paradise in the heart of Tour D'Yorkshire country, now an international event. For horse lovers like me there are numerous places to ride with excellent stables 5 miles from here near Richmond, a unique Georgian town with its own theatre, museums, architecture and lots of tea, coffee houses and restaurants. There are so many interesting places to see and things to experiences and enjoy for all ages, especially YORKSHIRE HOSPITALITY which is unique. There is a good local bus service to Leyburn and surrounding areas from the village to L Hawes, Richmond and Darlington and a Railway service from Darlington and Northallerton. A more unique experience is 'The Little White Bus' service stopping at surrounding villages and towns starting in Leyburn and well worth a trip. Or hire a bike in Leyburn. The A1 Motorway is twenty minutes away North and Southbound. Teeside Airport is 45 minutes away by car with York ,Harrogate , Durham, Leeds/Bradford around 90 minutes and Newcastle 110 minutes. We promote eco sustainability and recycle waste responsibly. We provide labelled bins and kindly ask you to separate your waste accordingly which we will dispose when you leave. There is a small bin under the sink for food waste but not meat or fish which is for general waste. We do not permit smoking in the house and appreciate your support. There is no shortage of water but so its not squandered please don't leave taps running too long and turn fully off.
