Charming rural fermette Gite with character on the outskirts of the village of Bais near Evron, Mayenne and Le Mans. Ideal for walking, angling (very close to carpodrome Carp’Eden 5000m2 lake stocked with 1 ton 500 carp), mountain biking and relaxation. Close to forests, Les Alpes Mancelles, Grottes de Saulges, Roman ruins at Jublain, picturesque St Suzanne and family friendly lakes with inland beaches at Sille Plage or Gue de Selle. Old farm house, no traffic apart from the odd tractor. Walking routes pass by the back garden. Really cosy with wood stoves, a paraffin stove or electric radiators for heating. Please note that there is a narrow spiral staircase between floors. Lots of local activities for families, particularly in the summer. Bais is a lively little town with supermarkets, bakeries, chemist, cafe, barbers, campsite, swimming pool and more. For more lively bars, restaurants and shopping I recommend 15 min drive to Evron or Villaines La Juhel, or 20 odd minutes driving to the town of Mayenne. Just 40 minutes from the exciting city of Le Mans. Car is essential because the lively village of Bais is 2km away, but lovely off road cycling, footpaths and bridleways pass by the garden. You can arrive at any time as there is a key locker on site.
