Town: Sleights is ideal for a coastal and a country holiday. It's 4 miles from the coastline, it is also on the edge of the moors, with attractive villages and scenery. Sleights has a pub, a fish and chip shop, an antique shop with a café, a butcher's, a bakery, a hairdressers and a Post Office within a shop. The North Yorkshire Steam Railway is nearby, together with the port of Whitby. Whitby lies at the River Esk and is situated for exploring this part of Yorkshire. It is a town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a harbour, sandy beaches and, of course, the abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.
