In an outbuilding a very well-equipped Gym, with commercial/health club standard ‘Cybex’ equipment, including, Cycle, Recumbent Cycle, Cross Trainer, Treadmill and multi-gym and Pilates equipment. Three separate banks of solar panels on the outbuildings and former piggeries, help power the site. The Farm House is heated with an air source heat pump and we are planning to create a carbon free enterprise encouraging visitors to experience nature. Look closely and you will see bird, bat and insect boxes tucked away in trees and buildings alike. On site we have a range of outbuildings, one of which is a large well equipped gym. You are welcome to use the gym so long as you are confident and familiar with this type of environment and equipment. Under 16's should be accompanied and supervised at all times. All users do so at their own risk and should be competent gym users. The equipment is in place for the use of the hosts and their family and is also available or guests so long as they are use to - and competent with using this type of equipment. If guests wish to use the gym and are not familiar with the equipment, they should first contact the hosts for an induction/ familurisation. Outside of the garden are fields and woodland with paths cut so that guests can walk around the woods, meadows and lake. The owner’s family, between them, have been keen Cyclist, Canoeists, City Guide (Norwich) and wildlife educator (Norfolk). So, if you wan advice on activities, Norwich, or Norfolk’s wild places,. just ask. Cyclists get advice for on, and off road routes to some of Norfolk’s little known gems. Store your bikes, canoes/kayaks boats and gear. Set in 36 acres where you are free to roam and find your own quiet spot to take time out with nature. Bordering the garden an old coppice wood of chestnut, hazel and holly trees, opens to a large meadow that falls away to further woodland, a lake, stream and wetlands. The current owners are on a program returning much of the farm back to nature, having planted native hedgerows and blocks of trees so far. Aiming to create an interesting, diverse patchwork of habitat working with nature for nature. If you just want to come and relax, there is no better place, with our “very own” wild herd of fallow deer to look out for. In-fact you would be very unlucky if you stayed here for a few days and didn’t get to view them. Other, more elusive wildlife include muntjac deer and otters however you only have to open yours ears to hear the wonderful birdsong. Throw a blanket down and have your own picnic and spot Kingfishers in the lake or geese nesting on the island. If you’re coming here to fish, the lake was once stocked with carp, but a few years ago the local otters enjoyed themselves on the most of these. But the extensive broads network and many private fisheries await close by. We have cut a series of paths through the meadows and woods to allow guests to walk around and get close to nature. Walk down our wooded drive and 200 meters along the pavement are bus stops taking you into historic Norwich or the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. To explore further afield or locally a car or bicycle is advised. WE FOG, We fog the entire property with anti viral between guests.
