Comfortable, spacious cottage in the countryside.

Our cottage was originally built in 1750 but has been lovingly restored to a high standard with traditional stonework and a beautiful stone fireplace. The cottage is located in a rural area with local amenities a short drive away from the towns of Vire and Sourdeval. Surrounded by beautiful scenery the cottage is an ideal place to enjoy nearby walks, rivers, forests, cycle paths, Golf, sporting activities, restaurants and bars. D-Day Beaches and Mont St. Michel approximately an hour away. The cottage has two double bedrooms, each with super king size beds which are very comfortable. There is an additional sofa bed in the lounge area downstairs and additional bedding can be provided on request. There is a large bathroom upstairs with a separate bath and shower. The large kitchen area is open to the spacious lounge / dinning room, in which there is a large wood burner (logs are provided). The entrance hall has a downstairs cloakroom. There is plenty of parking on the driveway and a large patio area with a table and six chairs. There are 2 sun loungers available as well as a BBQ and a patio log burner. There are two adult bicycles available for use by guests on request (which are stored in the garage). Guests are able to access the entire house as described. It is a self entry property - but there is a property manager living in the area who can assist if necessary. The small village of Gathemo has a Bar Tabac for essential items, as well as a Boulangerie and a church. Nearby there is the beautiful lake at Lac de la Dathee and there is an international Golf Course there also. The nearest towns are Sourdeval and Vire, which are both 15 minutes drive away. The cottage is located on the borders of Manche and Calvados in Normandy, and not far from the D Day Landing Beaches as well as Mont St. Michel. The cottage has a driveway with plenty of room for parking. The local area is great for cycling and walking. There is a washing machine in the kitchen and a tumble dryer in the garage.
