Waldbrunn is a cozy village with a rural atmosphere, nationally recognized as a health resort. It is situated between Main and Neckar, in the heart of the Neckar-Odenwald nature reserve. The famous “Castle Route” brings you to a number of interesting discoveries: hidden treasures, secret passageways and mysterious events. This idyllic holiday resort is situated on the highest mountain (628 m) of the Odenwald ("Katzenbuckel") and has an area of 16 ha. which includes 193 homes for a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. In the central building you’ll find the reception area and a kiosk where you can buy sandwiches, drinks and magazines. You can also use the laundry or rent a bike. Additional facilities include a large playground for children, tennis and soccer facilities and a common area for grilling. Horseback riding and inline skating (in season) are also possible at this versatile family park. All these ingredients help ensure a pleasant stay in the village of Waldbrunn. This 'Winnetou' house on a hill has a special character and a living area of approximately 68 m2. It can accommodate 2 to 6 persons. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with a sitting area (with cable TV), a dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen (with 4 hotplates, refrigerator, electric oven and coffeemaker). The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. Via a fixed wooden staircase you reach the upstairs which has two bedrooms. Bedroom #1 has two twin beds while bedroom #2 has two single beds and a bunk with a double mattress which is suitable for two persons. The house also has a shed. All accommodations are individual, comfortable and attractively furnished and feature a spacious ground floor with patio, ample garden furniture + a parasol. In winter there is also a (free) sled available. Beautiful woods invite you (until late in the spring) for a wonderful hike. In the immediate vicinity you can go gliding, ballooning (in summer) or visit the Castle Festival in Zwingenberg. In winter (when there is sufficient snow) Waldbrunn is the stronghold of ski trails in the Odenwald. Furthermore, there are nice restaurants practically everywhere. These allow you to enjoy delicious local specialties. Within close proximity there are interesting historic cities like Heidelberg, Michelstadt, Mosbach, Eberbach, Miltenberg and Rothenburg. The idyllic Neckartal is the most romantic part of the German “Castle Route”. There are plenty of possibilities for excursions including a visit to the Wolfsschlucht (Wolf Canyon), the Margarethenschlucht (Margaret Gorge), the caves near Eberstadt, or a cruise on the Neckar River. Of course you can always go back in time at one of the adventurous castles in the area. The village of Waldbrunn has plenty of leisure-time possibilities for everyone. Waldbrunn also has a variety of wellness activities including a spa health club, water aerobics, solarium, sauna and massages.
