The Rabbit Hole
The Rabbit Hole offers a beautifully appointed hideaway in the magnificent Yorkshire Dales. Perfect for a romantic break or as a base for walking & cycling in the surrounding countryside. A short hop from the bustling market town of Skipton with its medieval castle, shops & restaurants, Embsay is a quiet village bordering Barden Moor & The Bolton Abbey Estate and very close to The Tithe Barn. Embsay has a shop, 2 pubs & a vintage steam railway station. Guests are welcome to share our garden. The Rabbit Hole offers accommodation across 2 floors. Downstairs is the bedroom with wardrobe and drawers, king sized bed with bedside cabinets, and usb charging points. The adjoining shower room has underfloor heating, a toilet, washstand and shower. Upstairs is a sitting room with a small dining area and kitchenette. Kitchen facilities include sink, food prep area, toaster, kettle, microwave with grill, and fridge with small freezer compartment. A range of crockery and glassware is included along with various teas, coffee, hot chocolate, bread, butter, milk and a welcome to Yorkshire goody pack. There is a secure storage area for x2 bikes. We live directly next door to The Rabbit Hole and are usually around if our guests need help with anything, or require recommendations for places to eat, drink or visit. Access to our garden is welcome - we spend quite a lot of time pottering about, but will always respect our visitor's privacy. We're happy to stop and chat or leave people to their own devices. There are 2 village pubs close by and a small local store for basics. Embsay has a lot of options nearby for restaurants and cafes, relaxing walks, strenuous hikes and was on the Tour de Yorkshire bike race route with the challenging Côte de Barden Moor nearby. The Dales National Park boundary runs through the village and Embsay is well known for its steam railway which runs vintage trains to and from Bolton Abbey. Close by is the spectacular limestone scenery around Malham and the southern Dales or heading in the opposite direction lies Ilkley and Saltaire, World Heritage site and home to the David Hockney 1853 Galleries. The local Dales Bus service connects Embsay to other Dales villages and to Skipton, which is just under 2 miles away. Skipton has a good rail service to Leeds, Ilkley and Bradford. There are several reliable taxi firms based in Skipton.
