Milkwood Cottage on Banana Beach

Our quaint, pet friendly (pet safe) and much loved self-catering tropical beach cottage is ideally located 1 hour from Durban and 40m from Banana beach. The cottage sleeps 4 adults and 4 kids (in bunk beds). With secure and safe swimming, Banana beach is also shark-net protected and a popular surf spot. The cottage has no direct sea view and faces inland to protect you from onshore winds however, early morning coffee and evening gin and tonics on the beach are standard practice. What to expect: There is a hospitality/property manager living on the property and Sbu will welcome you on arrival. Sbu services the cottage daily, this is included in the daily rate and cleaning includes: sweeping once a day, making beds and washing up twice a day. The cottage floor slopes slightly due to movement on the sand-dune it was built on way back when. She is 100% stable now, but we left the crack in the floor as it is part of her history. Facilities: -A central lounge / dinning area. -Two bedrooms: one with a queen sized bed, the second has a double bed. -A third bedroom, a small children's bunk-room with 2 bunk beds. -One main bathroom inside the cottage. Bath, toilet and hand basin. -Well-supplied kitchen: gas hob, electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, pootjie pots, bodums (and decent pots). -A covered veranda -An outdoor shower with hot water -A separate outside toilet -Puzzles and books. -Duvets and pillows are supplied -Percale cotton linen -Bath and beach towels -There is a septic tank, remember, non-biodegradable items are lethal, including beach sand. -All 3 bedrooms have ceiling fans - essential against Mozzies -Safe for valuables -Braai / BBQ facility -Pet friendly (the property is fenced) Important to note: -Banana beach is a popular surf break -There is a laundromat at Banana Beach. -There is NO TV -No undercover parking -Do not feed the monkeys that visit every morning -Keep valuables locked in the safe -Keep gate closed and locked at night -No Wi-fi, enjoy less screen time and let your soul rest Guests have access to the entire property Sbu the property manager will let you in and answer all your questions. We are also available on email and cell phone at any time. Melville is a quiet, relaxed suburb on the South Coast. Banana beach is a popular surf and blue flag beach. Fun for the whole family. For golf enthusiasts, there are international courses along the entire South Coast. Selborne in Pennington is 20min drive north of Melville. Aliwal Shoal is in the top 100 dive sites of the world is a 30min drive from the cottage in Umkomaas. For the more experienced divers, Protea Banks is off the coast of Port Shepstone.
