Trail's End Guesthouse- Woodland Retreat

Nestled in the Pure Michigan woods, Trail's End Guesthouse is at the "end of the trail", situated on a hill, that overlooks a charming country garden with lots of photo opportunities. Rustic-style open floor plan. Two levels includes a spacious queen sized bed in the loft, main floor kitchenette with all the amenities to cook on site, and a cozy sitting room with a full-sized sleeper sofa, smart TV, DVD's, books, and a few games. The Guesthouse has a private back yard space with a fire pit. Winding Trail is a private gravel road with lots of hills and curves. There is a long driveway with ample parking for a couple of vehicles, toy hauler, bikes, and snowmobiles. We're excited for you to stay with us at Trail's End! Fairview was dubbed the Wild Turkey capital of Michigan many years ago and still has large flocks of turkeys throughout the county including our own backyard. The AuSable River is 12 miles away and a popular recreation destination for kayaking, canoeing, tubing, and fly fishing. The river winds across the state from Grayling to Oscoda and is known for the AuSable River Canoe Marathon and it's award winning trout waters! We are just a few miles to the Huron National forest trail-head that is teaming with trails to hike, bike, ATV ride, XC ski, and snowmobile. We have nearby Golf courses, a Fun Park, many local stores & restaurants, and an Amish community with bakeries & shops. There are a handful of local lakes for fishing or spending the day on the beach. State & Federal land is just up the road for hunting opportunities. We are within a few miles of the Huron National Forest, State & Federal land, the AuSable River, Smith Lake, Perry Lake, Crooked Lake & McCollum Lake. Let us know! The Guesthouse is "semi-unplugged" meaning that there is not satellite, cable, or a TV antenna. We do have Wifi available but is it limited on speed for our neck of the woods. It also can have 'intermittent' days. Trail's End Guesthouse sits in the shade of trees on a cement slab so stays somewhat cool inside if windows remain shut during the day and open at night. There is 2 ceiling fans and a powerful portable fan in the bedroom for air circulation. During the cold season, a gas wall furnace heats the Guesthouse. It has a fan to push the heat out. Unfortunately, all wall furnace blowers are somewhat noisy. NOTE: All wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicles are suggested for winter travel.
