Cotswold Cottage
Daisy's cottage is situated in Great Rissington a hill top village overlooking the Windrush valley. A few minutes drive away is Bourton on the Water, The Slaughters Stow on the Wold and Burford. Set in the grounds of Kate and Richard's own home the cottage has been converted from a Georgian Barn it provides cosy, self contained accommodation, and offers couples the chance to share this wonderful area while enjoying the privacy of their own characterful cottage. Whilst retaining the original beams and stonework Daisy's has a light, airy interior; stable door to the front and French doors to the private patio area at the back. The wonderfully equipped kitchen lacks nothing. Everything has been considered to make self-catering a joy. The cosy sitting room has a television and dvd player. It also has a radio and iPod/iPhone docking station. The bedroom is furnished in antique pine with a comfortable king size bed and has a window opening to the patio. The bathroom has a bath with over head shower, it also has a hand held shower attached to the taps, and a pretty window with views over the gardens of Meadow Barn. With regret we are unable to accommodate children or infants due to limited space. The preferred check in times are 3pm to 5pm but this is flexible with prior arrangement. The cottage has dedicated off road parking via a gated drive. There are many leaflets and maps in the cottage for your use, we are on site to give any further help if required. Set in the heart of the Cotswold we have many beautiful villages to visit all within a short drive Bourton on the Water, The Slaughters, Burford and Bibury to name just a few. Also worth a visit is Adam Hinson’s Farm Park, Snowshill Manor, the world famous Arts and Crafts garden at Hidcote near Chipping Campden, Chedworth Roman Villa and Cirencester. The city of Bath makes a wonderful day visit as does Stratford on Avon and Warwick. For those of you that enjoy period drama a visit to Chavenage house where some of Poldark was filmed is a must, at Chavenage you can escape into the peaceful surroundings of a Cotswold manor, virtually unchanged for 400 years. The house is situated near Tetbury which is 31 miles from Daisy's Cottage and open to the pubic from 1st May to 30th September on Thursdays and Sundays from 2-5pm. The charming village of Bampton which is just 14 miles away is where many scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed, St Mary's church renamed St Michael and All Angels in Downton Abbey, has hosted many dramatic events including weddings, funerals, christenings and even a jilting at the alter!
