Quenington is a quintessential English village in the heart of the Coln Valley, in The Cotswolds, 2 miles from Fairford, 3 miles from Bibury, 8 miles from Cirencester & 24 miles from Cheltenham. The village runs down to the meandering River Coln, which offers stunning walks. My cottage was built in 1878 and is just a stone's throw to the pub The Keepers Arms. We also have an 11th Century church, St Swithins in the village. It really is the perfect location to explore the beautiful Cotswolds. The cotswold stone cottage, which is my home (& has also been described as home away from home) is semi detached and is situated in the heart of this Cotswold village, a stone's throw to The Keepers pub and a short stroll to the 11th century St Swithins church, with gorgeous countryside walks along The River Coln. The cottage which was built in 1878 is on three floors. On the ground floor is the pretty sitting room, with mullion windows, which has two large sumptuous down filled sofas, sheepskin rugs and a fireplace with a wood burning stove, tv with Freeview, Netflix, a DVD player & unlimited fast Wi-fi. The kitchen is very well equipped, (as I love cooking!), with everything you could possibly need to cook and bake up a storm, with a Kitchen Aid mixer and food processor, plus a Neff Hide & Slide oven and a Nespresso coffee machine, with coffee pods. Please note that I do not have a microwave. It has underfloor heating and the rear porch has a washer/dryer, plus well equipped picnic baskets and rugs to take out whilst exploring The Cotswolds. The first floor has a kingsized bed with a beamed ceiling, views over the fields, a large desk, which is the perfect lap-top friendly workspace and is ideal for working from home. The bedding consists of down duvets and pillows, plus high thread count linen. The bathroom is also on this floor, with views out over the garden. The shower is in the bath. On the second floor there is the second bedroom also with a king sized bed, with views over the garden. The bedrooms are very quiet, so are perfect for a good night’s sleep. The pretty and delightful garden has a greenhouse, tiny pond, table, chairs, benches and a BBQ and is a real sun trap. It also has my studio. The garden is approximately 20 x 8 metres. The garden is full of a variety of birds, which come to feed on the bird feeders and there is also a hedgehog which comes to visit. In summer you can also relax in the hammock! I am happy to take children and have a travel cot and high chair available. However, my cottage is on three floors with steep steps, plus has steep steps in the garden. It is therefore more suited for couples and older children, who can make the most of the wonderful walks in the area. Whilst I don't usually take pets, I am happy on request to have a well behaved dog at an additional charge. The entire three floor cottage and garden will be available throughout your stay. I would definitely recommend having a car and there is free parking outside the cottage on the road. Sadly I’m not available to meet guests but am delighted to answer any questions by email or telephone. Quenington is a small and peaceful Cotswold Village, with a great pub, The Keepers Arms, plus a playground and the church of St Swithin, which dates back to 1193. There are gorgeous walks and great hiking trails the River Coln and there is a shop, (with post office & cafe) and pub - The New Inn in the next door village of Coln St Aldwyns. The village of Fairford is 2 miles away, Bibury with its famous Arlington Row is 3 miles away, Cirencester is 8 miles away, Burford is 11 miles away, Cheltenham is 22 miles away & Bicester Village is 40 miles away. Free Parking is available outside the cottage in Church Road and there is almost always space. The closest train station is Kemble, which is 13 miles away, with Charlbury being the next closest station. The National Express coach stops in Cirencester, which is 8 miles away. Parking is free in Church Road, outside the cottage or nearby. Please DO NOT block the neighbours garage. My cottage has it's own private garden, but please note that my neighbours share a path to access their garden. They also have a British bulldog. Please read my Air B N B Guidebook for places to eat and visit in the area. I will also leave out lots of details of things to do in the area of which there is a huge choice.
