Private farm guesthouse in nature (near Amsterdam)

Our cozy guesthouse De Purmer Stolp offers the best of two worlds. You are in a wonderfully quiet place in the middle of nature with a view of meadows, forest and all kinds of animals. If you are lucky you will be face to face with a cow from the house. But, you are also only 15 minutes away from the lively capital Amsterdam. The guesthouse is completely private at the back of our site at a good distance from the typical Dutch farmhouse where we live. Peace & quiet, relaxation and plenty to do! De Purmer Stolp is situated along a beautiful and quiet road on a terrain of almost 1 hectare, surrounded by ditches. When you enter the terrain you see the main house, a typical Dutch ‘stolp farm’. These farms are also known as ‘the pyramids of North Holland’ because of their striking shape. We live with our two kids and a dog (who walks around freely) in the main farm house. When you drive to the far end of the terrain you will reach the guesthouse. Lots of privacy, lots of comfort. The guesthouse is 80 square meters. It has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, a separate toilet and a living room / kitchen with huge windows looking out over the fields to a small cute village far away. You will definitely see a variety of birds and if you are lucky you will be in one meter distance face to face with some cows or sheep. The living room is the central place where you can chill on the couch with a book, watch a movie or play a game. There is also a big dining table for a lovely breakfast, lunch or dinner. In the kitchen you will find everything you need: like a fridge (with a small freezer), a Smeg stove and a microwave. From the kitchen you can open the doors to a terrace, partly with a roof and grape leaves hanging over your head in summer. On the other side of the guesthouse you’ll find a second terrace with a wood stove and a bbq. The real country life! There is one bigger bedroom with a double bed. The other bedroom is a bit smaller and has a double bed as well. Both bedrooms have closets for your clothes. The bathroom has a shower, a 2-person sink, a washing machine and drier. The hallway is spacious and offers room for hanging up jackets and such. There are plenty of nice things to do, for example: * Make a day trip to Amsterdam * Eat fish in the famous fishermen town Volendam * Go swimming or canoeing in the lovely waters of ‘Waterland’ * Make a hiking or a biking tour in the neighborhood * Make trips to other cities like Utrecht, Haarlem, Rotterdam and The Hague or to the beach There is plenty of free parking space in front of the cottage. By car it is a 15 minutes drive to the center of Amsterdam. A good alternative is taking the bus from Purmerend or Ilpendam and you will also be in about 15 minutes in the heart of our capital (by car it is 5 minutes to the bus stop in Ilpendam, by bike it is 10 minutes).
