Hoarstone - Cosy country cottage
Peaceful and with stunning views, you will find Hoarstone Cottage the perfect place from which to enjoy everything that the Cotswolds countryside has to offer with a wealth of walks, cycle routes, bridleways and wildlife right outside your window. You will also find yourself within easy reach of plenty of renowned towns, such as Burford, Woodstock, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, all of which will enable you to enjoy a fantastic Cotswold holiday. An ideal staycation post lockdown! Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage for upto 4 people. Located on the edge of the Cotswolds with stunning views across the Glyme Valley, yet only 5 minutes from the bustling market town of Chipping Norton, this cottage is the perfect setting for a luxury break. Soho Farmhouse, Daylesford Farm Shop, Blenheim Palace, many award winning pubs plus Cornbury, Feastival and Wilderness Festivals are all within 10 minutes of this beautiful hideaway. Open plan, with high vaulted ceilings to let in plenty of light, the cottage is situated next to a synthetic surface tennis court and a shared swimming pool, and with footpaths crossing the farm, this is a great get-away to unwind and relax. Due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus, the swimming pool is open but will be operated on a rota basis, and at our discretion. There is ample parking and a private garden with outdoor garden furniture and BBQ (during summer months). In the cooler winter months, a wood burning stove adds to a cosy feel within the cottage which is itself heated through underfloor heating from ground source heat pumps. For those with young children, we can provide a travel cot, high chair and the cottage is fitted with a stair gate to prevent the more adventurous toddler exploring too far. Dogs are welcome provided you let us know in advance, so that we can provide towels to help dry and keep your pet clean. We do have our own dogs and a cat so well behaved dogs only please! The cottage will be unlocked and ready for your arrival, with two sets of keys hanging inside. Guests have access to the cottage and its own garden, swimming pool (open mid-May / mid-September, opening dates at our discretion), tennis court and all surrounding countryside and public bridleways. We live at Stone Farm so are available for any questions that you may have. We are happy to make recommendations for places to go, places to eat or just to have a chat about the local area. Stone Farm is located on the edge of the Cotswolds, approximately 4 miles from Chipping Norton and a 15 minute drive to a World Heritage site at Blenheim Palace. Tucked into the quiet of the countryside, Hoarstone is an ideal place to take a break and unwind, and to use as a base to explore local attractions, whether shopping at Bicester Village, relaxing at Soho Farmhouse, indulging at Daylesford Organic Farm or immersing yourself in Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon. For those who like a less frenetic break, Stone Farm has footpaths and cycle routes on the door step, as well as use of an all-weather tennis court and heated outdoor swimming pool (open mid-May/ mid-September at our discretion) which is shared with other guests as well as the family. We look forward to welcoming you to our farm and home so that you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside as much as we do. Located in a very rural location, a car is a necessity for travelling around, but for the energetic, local facilities such as convenience stores and pubs are within cycling distance. Public transport is available - a bus stop for buses to Oxford and Chipping Norton is a 15 minute walk away or the local train station at Charlbury, is 10 minutes away by car. The Cottages at Stone Farm provide self-catering accommodation. However, we do provide plenty of little extras to start you off. To help you plan your stay, the following is a list of things you will find in the cottage on your arrival. • All linen • Bath and hand towels. We respectfully ask that you do not use these for use in the pool area – please bring your own towels for this. We will also provide old ‘dog towels’ if you are bringing your dog, so again, please do not use the bath towels for drying your dog. • Bathmat • Tea towel and hand towel (plus spares) • Dishwasher tablets • Kitchen roll, cling film and tin foil • Salt & Pepper • Tea bags • Instant coffee • Sugar • Handwash in the kitchen • Washing up liquid • J-cloth and scouring sponge • Kitchen and bathroom cleaning products • Loo roll • Hand soap in the bathroom • Logs, kindling & firelighter (winter months only) • Matches • Hangers • Bin liners. Please do not hesitate to email Nicky if you require any further information regarding your stay.
