Open Plan Barn near Hungerford and Marlborough
The space is a sumptuous and comfy open plan barn adjacent to a Manor House set in 5 acres of garden. The barn is located near to popular Hungerford and renown Marlborough. A couple, single person or small family could stay. They'll be a selection of cereals, bread, butter, jam, marmalade, peanut butter and marmite for you to have for breakfast. This open plan barn offers a large comfy queen size bed. With a small desk and internet connection, it can be a perfect place to relax as well as work from. The Kitchenette has a fridge, wine sink, dishwasher, microwave and all china and cutlery required (note: no cooker). The seating area seats 6 people, and the shower room has a large power shower, underfloor heating and a towel rail for the fluffy towels! You'll have sole use of the barn, and you are more than welcome to walk around the 5 acre garden that is proud to boast five walnut trees, numerous fruit trees and a magnificent Wellingtonia planted in the late 1800's. The small yew garden will remain private for the family as well the pool. Under no circumstances are any guests allowed to use the pool. It is for family use only. The barn is on an old cobbled courtyard with an original water pump. There is a little breakfast table outside. The barn is south facing and so a good spot, should it be a sunny day. If required, you can have access to our utility room which has a washing machine and dryer for your use (please inform us well in advance if you'd like to use this facility). There is an ironing board & iron in this room for your use too. I'll be available on my mobile or in person should you have any queries. I'm a busy mum of three and run my own graphic design business from home, so will leave you in peace in the barn! The kitchenette can warm up food in the microwave, but it isn't a proper cooking kitchen. I would hope that you'd prefer to make the most of the marvellous restaurants and local pubs that offer a wide variety of food options. The advantage of Froxfield is it's convenience to Hungerford - renown for its antique and boutique shopping - and Marlborough, a market town 10 mins away. The Savenake Forest is close by and there are lots of country walks in the local vicinity. A popular Michelin star restaurant, The Harrow Inn, is in a nearby village, s short drive away. We are convenient for visits to Highclere Castle, summer courses at Marlborough College Summer School the May & June local Open Art Studios, cycling along the Ridgeway and lots of walks and cosy country pubs. The popular Ramsbury & Chilton Foliat villages are very close to us too, as are the Bedwyns all with good pubs, walks and views. Hungerford Station is only 55 mins from Paddington, London. There are no taxis at the station, so you will need to be book one beforehand to take you up to our property. There is a very limited bus service from village, so really it is a place that you need a car. The barn is adjacent to the main Manor House. It is a 5 minute drive away from Hungerford Station. We strongly advise that you come by car however, so that you can visit all the places of interest with ease. We are a good place to stay for Newbury Races, shopping and Antique hunting in Hungerford, shopping in Marlborough, attending Marlborough Summer School, visiting Highclere Castle, going for country walks or cycling. There are good pubs and restaurants near by too.
