The Hut With No Name
The Hut With No Name is the perfect bolthole for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Nestled in the Suffolk countryside, it is fantastic for walkers, cyclists and a haven for nature lovers. Enjoy a large garden area to yourselves; have a bbq or visit the village's award winning pub. Fantastic beaches are nearby so come and enjoy our big skies, open spaces and all Suffolk has to offer. Blissfully comfy double bed, with memory foam mattress. Gas hob, hot and cold running water, fridge, dining area, wood burning stove, private cosy loo next door, outdoor seating and firepit in your own large garden area. Enjoy the experience of a heated outdoor shower with countryside views. Blankets and hotwater bottles mean you can stay outside and enjoy the stars for hours. From the hut you can enjoy both sunrises and sunsets. You will have private use of the Hut, loo and shower, plus you will have a very large garden area with seating and a fire pit to yourselves. Ruthie and Rory live next door and will be happy to offer local knowledge but will leave you in peace unless you need them. The hut is situated on a shingle driveway within our garden on the outskirts of Grundisburgh village. Here you will find an award winning pub, a fabulous deli, very well equipped convenience store and a more traditional general stores which also hosts a tearoom. The market town of Woodbridge is 5 miles away while the historic town of Framlingham with its 12th Century Castle is 10 miles away. Sutton Hoo, as featured in The Dig, is only 7 miles away. The coast is within easy reach with a multitude of beaches to choose from: Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold to the North and Felixstowe to the South. For nature lovers RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich Heath and Rendlesham Forest are nearby. There are many rivers in the area with lovely walks, riverside pubs and opportunities for kayaking and SUP. Foodie lovers won't be disappointed. In the hut you will find details of the best places to eat locally, but if you wish to eat in there is a fully equipped kitchen. Suffolk is ideal for cyclists with relatively flat roads and for mountain bikers the local forests have well maintained trails. We are keen cyclists, walkers and runners and can recommend routes for all abilities. There are plenty of places reachable by bike, including the coast for the keen cyclist. Public transport is sparse but buses do go from Grundisburgh village to Woodbridge, Ipswich and Aldeburgh. The nearest train stations are Woodbridge and Ipswich. Grundisburgh is a 10 minute bike ride or an enjoyable 25-30 minute walk away (torches provided for late night wanders). Please note there is step up to the front door and the bed is quite high.
