Comfortable cottage on the Chatsworth Estate

Yeldwood Farm Cottage is a beautiful barn conversion on our farm, just outside Baslow. The self-catering cottage sleeps 2 guests, in a Super-King size (or Twin) master bedroom. The cottage comprises a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, sitting room and bathroom with a large bath and shower. We are ideally situated on the Chatsworth Estate within the Peak District, close to Chatsworth House itself, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Eyam, Matlock, Castleton, Buxton and Sheffield. The cottage boasts a large bedroom with a comfortable bed (this can be made up either as a Super-King bed or as Twin beds); we provide cotton bedding, feather duvets & pillows, and bath & hand towels. The sitting room, with two comfortable sofas and an armchair, as well as a television and DVD player, is a wonderful place to relax and put your feet up after a long day! The light and spacious bathroom consists of a large bath, shower, loo and basin. Downstairs, the kitchen is equipped with a RangeMaster oven, a microwave, fridge/ freezer, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. The dining room has a large dining table and chairs, so that you can enjoy a relaxed meal in. We provide you with bread and eggs from our chickens for your breakfasts, as well as tea, coffee & fresh milk. Children are most welcome - we can provide a travel cot for very young children and there is lots of space in the kitchen to leave a pram. WiFi is available in the cottage, although it can be slightly temperamental due to our location! Our local village, Baslow, is just a short walk away from the cottage. Baslow has a village shop & Post Office, a few pubs, restaurants and cafes and is the perfect base from which to explore the Peak District. The opportunities for walking in the area are almost endless; from the cottage, you can follow a footpath into the village and you will reach the Kissing Gate entrance to Chatsworth Park within 5 - 10 minutes; from there, lots of paths offer walks of all distances. Alternatively, you can wander up through Yeld Wood and onto Baslow Edge in about 25 - 30 minutes. The Edge - home to local Highland cattle - offers excellent views into the Peak District and across Chatsworth Park. You'll have the whole cottage to yourself and we will provide you with a key on arrival. The cottage provides an ideal location form which to explore Chatsworth, the Peak District and Derbyshire. Off-road parking available, as well as ample secure cycle storage. We will be here to welcome you on arrival, and happy to give any advice we can throughout your stay! If you are bringing your own car, we have ample car parking space next to the cottage. If you are arriving by train, we are about 20 minutes from Chesterfield train station and 30 minutes from Sheffield train station. There is also a bus stop 5 minutes walk down the road and we can suggest a number of local taxi firms.
