Built in 1846 at the time of the Indian Mutiny, the Irish Potato Famine and the birth of the Midland Railway. Our stunning Hall is located on Trowell Moor in the heart of D.H. Lawrence country, close to Byron, Bosworth Field, Robin Hood, Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall, Keddleston, Sillitoe, Paul Smith and much more. Trowell Hall is a unique early Victorian country home with 3 reception rooms, 5 bedrooms, a water tower, an Aga and an outdoor pool set in 50 acres of beautiful countryside. The spacious setting and breathtaking views provides luxury and comfort in beautiful private surroundings. You will have the use of the entire house and gardens during your stay. Abundant parking at the Hall. This is a brilliant house for family and friends to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. We are not allowed to accept groups of more than 16 people and we are not allowed to host parties. We are totally averse to glitter which is a nightmare to clear up. Please don’t bring fireworks as there are horses in our fields. It is important that guests are quiet and respect of our neighborhood and peaceful surroundings. The pool is heated May-Sept to approx 22deg. We have just added a small hot tub to the pool area. It is available on request. Please message us if you would like to use it. You will need to byo charcoal/wood for the fire pit. We welcome well behaved dogs but they will need to stay in the kitchen and conservatory area whilst in the house and outdoors they need to stay on a lead as the gardens are not enclosed and we have wildlife and livestock in the surrounding acreage. You will be responsible (& charged) for any damage or breakages caused throughout The Hall. There is £100 fee for lost keys and £50 charge if you lock yourselves out and we need to let you in. The house is very old and quirky (light switches, door handles and plumbing from time to time have their own way of working-please be aware of this). Please do not move any tables or heavy furniture as some of them are antique and fragile and it can damage our maple floors.
